I was in there Thursday night, it was a goodnight till people started buying me drinks… The bartender just kept pouring them rather than asking if I wanted another one. I feel as if they’re just trying to over serve at this place. Sad it’s the only rainbow bar in the valley and that’s what it’s known for. Things gotta change. Think twice before going to rascals bar and grill.

The outside bar is cozy and probably perfect for the summer months. The inside bar has the historic Wisconsin bar feeling and even has the “pull tabs” that many local bars have in Wisconsin.

Awesome bar. I’m not gay, but I went one night to see if I could get people to buy me drinks… I’ll just say it, I got my cheeks clapped by the end of the night. If you want free drinks, and don’t mind getting clapped, this is your bar!!!!

Be aware that the staff here likes to LOUDLY talk about their own personal politics. When myself, and others, go out.. it’s to get away from the stress of the world, not hear the staff projecting their political nonsense where others can hear it. And overhearing someone talk favorably about political murder is something that’s going to raise stress in a lot of people. NOT COOL.

Very nice bar and friendly owners. While there have been many bartenders – Andrew is the most attentive which translates into awesome customer service. There have been upgrades and updates to the bar which have improved the overall experience. There are many bars in Appleton however Rascals is definitely my favorite.
Edit: I enjoy coming down on Friday nights to see Doodles. The charm and camaraderie has been appreciated since I’ve been coming here for quite some time! An excellent bartender once again found in the fox valley.

First experience here a few months ago was not the best but i thought maybe it was an off night. I have been there 4 times this year and things never change. The new patio is amazing but the service hasn’t gotten any better. Although they advertise the kitchen open until 9, twice on weeknights I asked for a menu. One night on the patio I was told they don’t serve food when there is one bartender and the patio is open. The second time the bartender got upset and said the grille wasn’t on but if I insisted, he would turn it on. The other part that did not make me feel welcome was the group of employees who seem to take over the bar. The bartender spends more time shaking dice with them, than serving customers. I talked to a lady who said she is a regular customer. She said everyone along that part of the bar (7 of them) were all employees or their partners and they get their drinks half price. If you aren’t part of the employee crowd, you will be treated like an annoyance. Its too bad this is the only “gay” bar in Appleton.
