We had a fantastic experience using our city tin at Rare Steakhouse last night!
We had a reservation and were promptly seated. The restaurant is much larger than I had thought! Very full for a Friday night and delicious food all around. Our server was fantastic, thorough and detailed in her descriptions, no rushing us through the dishes and very accommodating. We have an onion allergy to accommodate and all was made fresh to order and onions easily avoided. Usually we can’t order most sides but everything on the menu was available to us.
We aren’t big red meat eaters but the steak was delicious. We shared it along with potatoes and brussel sprouts. It was perfect, delicious, steak so tender we could cut it with a fork, just the right amount to share and lots of rolls with honey butter.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Rare. The service was exceptional. Our server, Ricky, was great, very knowledgeable and took fantastic care of us. The food was outstanding and presented beautifully. Treat yourself to the bananas foster, you won’t regret it!!

We sat outside on the patio area with a view of the capital building while we dined.
Susie was a super sweet waitress who made our anniversary special.
They have an extensive wine list and cocktail menu. Very posh. Very loud inside. Bathrooms are ok. No parking close by unless you are lucky enough to find street parking.

We had a fantastic 4 course dinner with 2 perfectly paired J Henry bourbon neats, and 2 specialy curated cocktails. Was a great atmosphere, staff was extremely accommodating, and the chef prepared a wonderful meal to pull it all together. The food was very well balanced, delectable, and displayed in a simple elegance. Not often do I spend 4 hours at a restaurant and walk away wishing it lasted longer. Highly recommend anyones special event to be hosted here if you want an intimate and perfectly executed evening.

Amazing experience. We had reservations for a Saturday night at 6. We each ordered drinks i had a stella and she had specialty mixer which she said was fantastic. We did not get an appetizer though they all looked good. I had a new york strip and she got filet mignon with sautéed scallops along with asparagus and green beans. I’m not great with wine or really care for it but our server paired such a fantastic wine to go with our meal. It was delicous!!! It was loud inside but we could still talk and hear each other. There were kids there but all well behaved. I wish I hadn’t tossed the receipt so I could give a shout out to our server, best service I’ve ever had, and best steak. We’ll be back!!

Made a reservation for our aniversary. Staff great us grat; really friendy. Had a reservation, we got seated, but we wanted a different table, they were kind to let us choose a different table. Service was amazing, food…no words to explain how good the food was, amazing…from the Starters, to the main dish, all good. Recommend 100%

Had one of the best dining experiences in a very long time! Our server, Kristen, was absolutely amazing. She was one of the sweetest servers we have ever had. She recommended some delicious cocktails, including the smoked old fashioned, which was AMAZING. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, and our glasses were never empty with Kristen’s strong attention to detail. The best way to end out 2025 with great food and service!

Great place to go to when someone else is buying! The atmosphere was on point, the food was well made and perfectly curated. The specialty “smoked” old fashioned was a lot of fun. Parking was a little bit of an issue but also expected for downtown on a Saturday night.

We had the chance to visit Rare on Friday night for a date, and we truly had the best time. Our waitress, Kristin, gave us some of the best service we’ve ever experienced. Her recommendations were spot-on, her knowledge was impressive, and she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.
The food—Wagyu steak, filet, lobster mac & cheese, oysters, and ahi tuna tartare—was absolutely incredible. We’d happily recommend Rare for your next night out! And ask for Kristin !

Stopped by for happy hour as I had heard great things about it. We ordered the chili shrimp, sliders and steak frites. Wow! So delicious! The portions are small but that was fine with us, we didn’t walk away hungry. Would definitely recommend!
