Welcome !
Rao Thai Eatery is a unique an an exclusive Thai restaurant to Elk Grove and Sacramento. The restaurant will furnished with decorations that will make customers feeling like home. Our perspective of the food we cook is not the same as other ordinary Thai food but instead it is a contemporary semi modern Thai style with real authentic taste.

The food was for the most part too sweet. 10/10 spicy was mediocre and we got their special which was also too sweet.
The only thing that was good was the alcohol. I shotgun the beerlao for a bet I had, but in majority, the food was too sweet. They did however had 4 types of spices they brought out which I really appreciated. The spices were dried red pepper, hot oil chili, fish sauce thai chili, and pickled jalepenos.
The atmosphere was okay, lots of flies for some reason which was a but irritating.

The restaurant needs more than two people working front of house. It took a while to get our order taken, so we were ready to order drinks, an appetizer, and our entrees. After twenty minutes, they brought out the app and the entree. Then, they brought two drinks. Then the last two entrees. Several minutes after, they brought the third drink. We got it all out of order and there was no reason to be without drinks for so long, nor to get the appetizer at the same time as the main course. I’ve never been served food before drinks. Wirh how long the wait was to receive anything, there was ample time to bring out beverages.
Food was fine. Drunken noodles were too soggy for my taste. There wasn’t a lot of beef in it. The Thai iced coffee could have used more dairy/cream.
Several tables were dirty from previous customers. People would come in and have to wait minutes for a single table to be cleared, which meant they loitered by our table for a while.
I wouldn’t return.

As I am Thai “Rao Thai Eatery” is my favorite Thai restaurant in Elk grove. Papaya salad was so delicious, flavor was exactly like Esan style. The owners were very friendly. I will coming back to try something new here! Don’t forget to order Thai Tea.

We came here for a birthday dinner, and it was fantastic. The staff was friendly and even surprised our friend with a small dessert. We shared spring rolls, curries, and noodles, all bursting with fresh herbs and spices. The lively atmosphere, complete with colorful lanterns and music, made it feel like a real celebration.

This has always been my favourite Thai spot. The food is fresh and delicious, the service is excellent, and the staff are genuinely kind. They even helped with my mum’s birthday cake and brought it out for us, which made the celebration feel extra special. Not many places would think to do that, and it really meant a lot.

I have to leave 5 stars for this place. The food is so good. I ordered myself Drunken noodle. They cook the drunken noodle just perfect, not too soft and soggy like other places. The papaya salad and the mango sticky rice is so delicious.
Friendly staff and good service.
Highly recommended and I will come back soon to try other dishes on the menu.

Every single time when I order hot basil, I expect it just like the image that they posted themselves, and they always give me the image 2. When I’m in restaurants they’ll replace it for me. I just called them for they messed up my takeout and the waitress saying it’s my fault that I should specify it as Thai style.
Lady I don’t speak Thai. I order by image, if you have 2 dish, put as 2 name. I don’t blame you for asking stupid question when you order Chinese food, get it together

Excellent food. They had fresh chopped Thai chili pepper in fish sauce as a condiment. They had the drunken noodle dish and Pad Kaprow with pork belly special. The special dish could feed two to three people for $20. My only complaint is the waitress told me it would cost extra for the pork belly. Most places charge $3-5 extra, which was what I was expecting. The bill showed an extra charge of $10.00. I thought that was a little excessive, but since it could feed at least two people, some could justify it. The pho noodles were cooked too long or left in the bowl too long before adding the soup, so they were clumpy but not a big deal. We got to the restaurant 45 minutes before closing. Definitely recommended.

Amazing authentic Thai dishes. The moo ping is fantastic and the currys are great! We also ordered the Thai tea which is better than most places imo, great tea flavor and not overly sweet. Awesome and friendly staff as well! Highly recommended!
