We quickly learned this is a true family-run spot—mom, son, and daughter—and that warmth shows through in every detail: the service, the cleanliness, the décor, and especially the food presentation.
We started with chips, a fresh cabbage mix, and generous bowls of house-made salsa that had just the right kick. For those who like it hotter, they thoughtfully offer bottles of well-known hot sauces: Tapatio (3,000 Scoville Heat Units SHU), El Yucateco green habanero (7,900 SHU), and El Yucateco red habanero (7,600–9,500 SHU). For comparison, classic Tabasco ranges 2,500–5,000 SHU. I really appreciated the attention to detail in giving customers a choice of heat levels.
The service was fantastic. Drinks and salsa were refilled promptly, and everything came with a smile. My chimichanga was perfectly crisp—not greasy, as we’ve found at other places—and the Mexican rice was light and flavorful.
My wife ordered a chicken taco salad and asked if she could add shrimp, even though it wasn’t on the menu. Without hesitation, our server replied, “No problem, my friend.” The shrimp arrived grilled to perfection. Even better, the hot ingredients were served inside the taco shell, while the lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and cheese were placed on the side. No soggy lettuce on hot meat—a thoughtful and refreshing presentation.
Everyone in our party raved about their meals. Portions were so generous that most of us needed boxes to take food home.
Final thoughts: Next time we make the 9-hour trip back to this area, this will be our go-to restaurant. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
Bonus touches we noticed:
• Pool table
• Big-screen TV
• Enormous margaritas being served
• Beautifully painted booths and chairs
• Plates served piping hot
Wow my mouth is in paradise! I had an amazing steak picatto and my wife had an awesome carne asada our waiter was fantastic. Really cheerful attitude adding to the dining experience.
Made a return trip to Kettle Falls for the weekend to snowshoe and we specifically planned to eat out at Rancho Grande for Valentine’s Day.
Food was once again delicious and bountiful. Though we ate it all. No take home for us! 🙂
Met the owner on this visit. He was very attentive with all of his customers. It truly shows that he cares about making it a good dining experience for his customers.
We love it that I can have my spicy foods and my cilantro fixings while my husband can enjoy a modified no seasoning steak fajitas to meet his “allergy” needs. He lives a life without capsaicin and cilantro. It’s devastating. No salsa or guac for him.
We ate the same dishes as last year and they were of same quality and quantity.

This place puts the sizzle in fajitas❣️
LOVED everything. Salsa is spicy. Camarones (shrimp) fajitas were spot on. Delicious. Lots of flour tortillas. Made for a perfect dinner after snowshoeing trails on Sherman Pass.
My husband sadly can’t have any cilantro and anything with chilis (capsaicin). Even the smallest amount would wreak havoc. He took me to Mexican cause he knows I can hardly ever have it cause of him. The chef made him steak fajitas without any sauce or seasoning. Put the guac on the side. And presto! A perfect dinner whipped up for him, too.
Our server, Gio, was attentive and made us feel very welcome.
The wife ordered Chili’s Relleno, Huevos Rancheros and our friends Chicken Enchiladas.
Very Good Flavor, Good Portion Size.
Reasonable Pricing.
It looks like many restaurants in Mexico.
Having recently moved back Mexico, I was impressed.
I want to shout out from the rooftops about your wonderful restaurant! My family and friends spent an extraordinary time together eating great food while sitting in your festive, artistic dining room complete with vivid color and carved furnishings. A group of 5 adults (some local, some from Boston) were on an outing with one another while having a family reunion late last
April.
Your food was both nourishing and delicious. True hospitality starts behind the scenes. It embodies empathy, love, and respect to your customers. This speaks volumes about your true character as a restaurant owner.
Your genuine love for food and hospitality is revealed by the way you prioritize customer satisfaction. Your gracious hospitality rivals no other.
Bravo, Senõr Fernando and to your team!
