We stayed a week at an inn next door to this place, and walked to dinner several times. The atmosphere was very laid back with music, several TV screens displaying various sports, and two dining rooms with comfortable wooden furnishings. The service was outstanding, and every experience with the various staff was above and beyond. They were friendly, smiling, and more than happy to get us what we asked for. The food itself was delicious. I loved the blackened salmon and asparagus, as well as the Philly cheesesteak. My family members tried the walleye, a steak and a burger, and they were pleased with all… particularly the generous portions. In addition, I thought the menu had a large number of options, and was so glad we had so many good things to try!

Good service and environment. There is a bar area and a dining room away from the booze. We had the ribeyes and they were okay quality/taste. Could definitely use a bit more seasoning. The Mac n cheese bites were pretty good. Overall a decent experience.

Best burger I’ve had in North Dakota !!!Faith was an amazing host. Took our orders and was very polite and professional. The ambiance of this establishment is pretty cool a mixture of old school rustic and comfortable bar environment. I’ve driven past here so many times over the years, and I’m glad I stopped by today. My double bacon cheeseburger was made promptly and was so filling and delicious. Definitely will double back when I’m in the vicinity. Best Regards.

This is how steaks are made. If you own a restaurant and want to know how to make it better go here. The place was packed. Food came out fast and hot. Drinks were always filled “thanks Tierra”.The food was amazing, price for the meal was spot on. It was just great food. I would highly recommend it.

This place is without a doubt the best place to eat and drink at in the area. Super friendly and fast servers always make sure you are well taken care of and the cooks make sure you don’t leave hungry. I was in the area for work and went one day for a beer and burger. Not pictured in my review is the mammoth of a double meat that I had with the A1 Bacon Jam on it By far one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. It was not one of those super thin dried out abominations that folks call Smash Burgers. It was a thick and juicy 3/4 inch thick patty double meat. Absolutely Amazing!! Pictured in the review was my appetizer, THE POUTINE!! Damm sure wasn’t your regular north of the border poutine, since it had house made gravy and fried cheese curds on it. That’s right, they batter and fry the cheese curds that they put on it. It was without a doubt the best poutine I have ever had and such a huge helping that it could easily be a meal all by itself. If you’re in the Van Hook or New Town area you definitely have to stop in at Ranchmans at enjoy a true slice of the Americana Experience!!

It really annoys me when restaurants like this nickel and dime you for simple condiments (see attached photo of receipt) that are generally complimentary at 99.9% of other establishments.
Seriously?? You’re charging me extra for some butter, sour cream, tartar sauce, and lemons?? I’m surprised I wasn’t charged extra for a plate as well as a fork & knife.

All this does is annoy the customer and greatly reduces the chance of them ever going back again. Mission accomplished.

Then, to top it all off they offer a lower cash pay price and a higher credit card price.

We have been here twice now and we love this place! It has a great atmosphere and we always leave stuffed and happy. Last time I ordered the fish, and it was a little bit dry, so this time I ordered the filet mignon and it was perfect. My boyfriend and mother in law ordered the prime rib, which I will probably get next time. Even if the meat doneness is not perfect to order the flavor profile is still on point and the meat is tender and well seasoned. their soups and salads are definitely great, and the fried mushrooms appetizer is our favorite. It is a little bit pricey for us so not somewhere to go to every time you want to eat out, but great place for a date night or birthday or other celebrations. Worth it though because I always take the leftovers home to eat, the portions are definitely good sized. It was our birthday and the staff brought us a complimentary piece of cheesecake to take home with us. Look forward to coming back soon!

The service was great; the bartender was a real gem! The French dip sandwich was a salt bomb. Really one of the saltiest sandwiches I’ve ever had, plus it cost $17 with added mushrooms and onions. You can also see innl the photo that the meat is dry. Do yourself a favor and order something else. My mixed drink was served in a plastic cup. This is definitely a no-frills establishment. I’d go back because of the good service, though. Maybe their burgers are better.
