We are visiting from SC and stopped here for dinner. We were greeted warmly and seated quickly. Our drinks and food came out fast! My husband ordered the pastor tacos(and he has tried pastor tacos all over the states) and he said they were the best he has ever had!! My kids are also picky eaters and cleaned their plates! We are coming back tomorrow for my son’s birthday lunch before we head back home. We can’t wait to come back when we visit again in March! Thank you for a wonderful meal on our last night!

This Mexican food is the best in the area! We come here almost every week and they have lots of options to choose from, chicken, seafood, beef, and have it prepared in hundreds of ways! I always get the quesadilla fajita and my husband always gets the burrito California, both phenomenal and affordably priced. Every time I come, it’s packed and it’s obvious why! The food is delicious, atmosphere is lovely, it’s moderately loud due to all the people but the seating arrangements allow you to still talk to your family. Service is also great, they are super friendly, have quick service and very accommodating! I recommend everyone to eat here all the time so I had to make this review. It’s also perfectly located in the area. There are too many places around here that are only open a couple days in the week but this restaurant is reliably open all the time so we never need to check the hours. It’s also open later in the evening so if you’re running late, no problem! Parking is also very spacious and easy. I have too many good things to say about this place, come here to have a great dining experience!

They have a huge menu, good margaritas, prompt service, and decent prices. I had the chiliquites, they got my order wrong but it was very delicious! The dish came with eggs, but when they rang it up I think they charged me extra for them. It was excellent nonetheless. Worth a try.

Now this is the place you need to eat at! Riding your motorcycle up 181? Visiting your family up this way? This is the place to eat! I asked about a recipe! THEY GAVE IT TO ME!!! This is my favorite restaurant! The music/the service/the food and spices! I recommend this Mexican restaurant as the best one in North Carolina!!!

I went in with pretty low expectations for some reason but it ended up being a great meal. I had the vegetarian fajitas and they were very good.

A hidden gem. This restaurant has been around since 1991, as the first Mexican restaurant in the high country. We stopped in after hiking and they accommodated our large party. We had friendly service, delicious food and reasonable prices too. Highly recommend!

My wife and I had dinner there on 10/16/25. Greeted with a less than enthusiastic attitude. We both had the chicken chimichangas with rice and beans which were just mediocre. Waiter was not very friendly as well. Will drive further to get better food and feel like our business is appreciated. Also could hear the people in the booth behind us and they had complaints about their dinner as well. A lot of kitchen noise with clattering of dishes which filtered out into the dining area.

The food is not bad but This place does not stay true to their prices they over charge on food and drinks once you go up to pay , i don’t know if it’s the people working the counter that do it or the restaurant itself, but I would not recommend going here unless you’re ok with being overcharged for no reason. Go to another Mexican restaurant their is a lot better places they won’t ever overcharge you either.
