Definitely a dive bar but it’s GREAT. Good food all made from scratch. Yumm blue cheese dressing. We had a wedge salad & a buffalo Chicken salad. Best mushroom appetizer we’ve ever had. Reasonable pricing. Awesome friendly service (thank you Marie).
Walking into their establishment, my stepdad and I were greeted warmly by Carly and she was very kind and helpful with suggestions on what to eat. The menu is still the same from before but we were told that it was going to be changed soon.
We ordered the general alarm wings, onion rings, and a side of fries as the appetizer. For the main course, I got the flashover station burger which is their signature and my dad got the ribeye steak which is part of the Thursday special. The steak came with a salad which came out first and then we were surprised when the appetizers and main entrees were all brought out together. But confusion aside, the flavors of every dish were pretty good. The wings were coated with mango habanero sauce and were on the sweeter side and it didn’t taste spicy at all. The onion ring had good batter and were fried to perfection and the fries were crispy and nicely seasoned. I personally really enjoyed the burger, the patty was perfectly cooked medium and was juicy, the portion size was enormous, and the jalapeños add a nice light spice. The steak was seasoned well and tasted flavorful and tender. Overall, everything tasted great! This place is definitely worth a visit if you want good food with great vibes.
And overpriced. I ordered the chicken tenders and fries. The fries were excellent, the chicken tenders. He cooked them so so hard that you could hit somebody in the eye and break their eyeball.
Way overcooked, so he remade them I showed it to him the cook. Second batch were fine, but I was afraid to eat them. Because I’ve seen stories about people. Spitting on your food when they’re mad. The server behind the bar very unfriendly, very nonchalant. Attitude. We come to karaoke quite often, but I don’t think we’ll be coming back. It’s really, really put it downer. In our evening. When he brought the replacement chicken tenders, he threw them at me on the table. Who does that? You’re in the business to get customers to come back. Very disappointed would like a refund for the whole meal. If possible.?
I have been here twice now. I drop down here when I’m visiting Idyllwild. Prices up in the mountain are tourist price high. It’s a scenic drive to get here and the food and atmosphere is better. I never feel rushed to get done and get out. Whisky pours were on the generous side and The Chief is a damn good sandwich. Fries kinda suck in my opinion, but the sandwich filled me up to where I didn’t need fries. Service was fantastic.
