Really good experience in a beautiful open venue. Service was perfect with good attention from multiple staff but not overbearing by any means. We especially loved the duck confit, soufflé, and complementary bread.

There’s live music if it’s not too late. The ambience is great for a special occasion. The red lightning is interesting. Maybe not for everyone. Would come back again for another special event.

Rampoldi has become one of those rare New York restaurants I return to again and again—and after more than four visits, it’s firmly earned its place as one of my favorites in the city. From the moment you step inside, the ambience feels effortlessly elevated: refined, intimate, and unmistakably upscale without ever feeling stiff or pretentious.

The service is consistently exceptional—warm, attentive, and polished in a way that makes every visit feel special and personal. It’s the kind of hospitality that enhances the experience rather than interrupts it, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and genuine care.

The food is, quite simply, delightful. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and rich in flavor, making it clear that quality and detail are at the heart of Rampoldi’s kitchen. Whether it’s a first visit or a repeat one, the experience never loses its charm.

Rampoldi isn’t just a great restaurant—it’s a dependable favorite, ideal for celebrating, impressing, or simply indulging in a truly refined dining experience. In a city overflowing with options, that level of consistency and elegance is what sets it apart. Shoutout to Jose and Milena who served us tonight!!

The good: elegant atmosphere and service was good. We loved the live music, and appreciated the complimentary flute of prosecco at the door! The bad: the food was just good, not great. We had the foie gras appetizer, a filet and the scallops. Nothing was bad by any means, but it was just okay. Would have loved a little better sear on the steak, and the scallops were kinda bland. Also our martinis were just fine. Giving them a break here since they weren’t technically a drink offering but still, any respectable bar should be able to nail a martini. I shouldn’t be sitting there wishing I had made it myself while paying $24 for it haha. Overall just felt like they didn’t really deliver. That said, the prices seemed fair and portions were okay.

Steak was great, make sure to get medium rare. Got the tartare for appetizers and the apple pie + vanilla ice cream for dessert. The live music piano and bass jazz was absolutely amazing, even had a friend request a song! Service was excellent as well. Very high end though, but you get what you pay for

I originally intended to make a reservation at their sister restaurant Atlantic Grill around the corner before a show at Lincoln Center but when that team couldn’t locate my reservation, they sent me next door to their sister restaurant Rampoldi which shares the same kitchen I believe and is connected.

When I first entered the space I was impressed by the ambiance and red/pink lighting that reminded me of passion and romance. We got seated in the back dining room which worked perfectly, especially since we didn’t have a reservation.

The establishment had a pri fixe option available for pre-show meals at a reasonable price ($68) but we decided to pick our own dishes instead.

Ordered the half dozen oysters and calamari to start and everything was just ok
My espresso martini was well crafted but my filthy gin martini left a little more to be desired. Unfortunately they didn’t get the memo on the filthy and no one came up to check so I just stuck with it and wasn’t able to finish it.

Service was also pretty bad as I sat with an empty class a couple of times, they could’ve just left a bottle of water for us to serve ourselves rather than have me sitting there thirsty. That same lack of foresight and care unfortunately applied throughout the meal as we almost missed our exit time despite them asking us beforehand if we had a show to get to.

The calamari were just alright. Not well seasoned or cooked and pretty bland, the oysters were oysters hard to mess those up and my scallops were pretty tasty as was my friend’s sea bass which was probably the best thing we collectively ordered as a table
When I received the check, I was genuinely shocked at the cost vs. quality of the meal and service

If we had more time and were assisted in advance as offered upon initially entering, I would have been able to share this feedback firstly with the team.

My visit to Rampoldi was outstanding from beginning to end. The atmosphere is elegant, the food is delicious, and the service is truly top-notch.

I especially want to highlight my server, Milena, who was incredible – attentive, warm, and with perfect timing. She made the entire experience even more enjoyable.

My sommelier, Andrea, also gave me the best wine recommendation, which elevated every dish and showed impeccable expertise.

I will definitely be returning. Highly recommended

We dined at Rampoldi on Wednesday (2/18) for a late Valentine’s celebration. My boyfriend made the reservation two weeks in advance, expecting a polished and well-managed fine dining experience. What we received instead was disorganized, inattentive, and frankly embarrassing for a restaurant at this price point.

Upon arrival, we were told our table wasn’t ready. Moments later, another staff member said there was an empty table. We were then seated directly beside the kitchen and next to the cutlery sorting station, essentially in a service corridor. Throughout the entire evening, we listened to staff loudly discussing how busy they were, speaking and even shouting right next to our table. There was no sense of discretion, professionalism, or awareness of guests.

The most baffling part: the restaurant was largely empty. Yet we were placed at what was clearly the worst table in the room, in the middle of constant staff traffic and noise. It felt careless at best and dismissive at worst. For a reservation made well in advance to celebrate a special occasion, this seating decision reflects extremely poor management.

Service only reinforced that impression. Our waitress was cold and purely procedural, with no warmth or hospitality. Our finished plates sat for an extended time before being cleared. The bread we ordered never arrived. No apology, no acknowledgment. These are basic service standards, not luxury expectations.

Rampoldi presents itself as refined and upscale. However, refinement is not just about décor and pricing, it is about consistency, attention to detail, and respect for every guest. What we experienced was a lack of oversight and a failure in management.

When guests pay premium prices, they expect professionalism. If equal and attentive service cannot be guaranteed, the restaurant should reconsider how it positions itself.

We left feeling disappointed and undervalued, not something anyone should feel after a planned celebration.

Great ambience, great food, and great live music! We had beef and octopus tartar, lobster pasta, and beef tenderloin. Everything was delicious. But honestly my favorite was the coconut and mango sorbet It was so fresh and tasted like actual fruit, not too sugary or artificial.

Amazing dinner with family at Rampoldi NYC. The place is fantastic as well as the service at the level of one star Michelin restaurant at least. The food was great, we took the butternut soup and the sea scallop and it was an absolutely delicious.
The atmosphere with piano live music was the final touch for a great dinner, I highly recommend.
