Try the Japanese curry! Delicious, chicken karaage was amazing too and the shoyu cucumbers. I can’t remember what the ramen was but it’s super brothy and the pork was so tender. Upstairs at the bar was a great time, we got a bottle of Harada Sake and closed the place down. ❤️

Went to the pop-up event with Chef Watanabe and it was INCREDIBLE!! I was first in line on Friday morning. Sorry but, you snooze, you lose. Anyone who is writing a negative review based on not being served for that day should offer up some grace and understanding. The amount of effort and hard work that goes into these events is unfathomable. Keep crushing!

We went to Ramen Ichizu for their collab with Ramen Feel (ranked the #4 ramen chef in Japan!) and wow, it was unforgettable!! Yes, we waited in line outside for 3.5 hours, but it was absolutely worth every minute.
The moment we stepped through the doors, the energy of the place was amazing. Both chefs personally greeted and thanked guests, which made it feel so special and welcoming. The service was fantastic, and we got lucky with counter seats where we could watch all the action in the kitchen. Such a cool experience.
The food? Incredible. The vibe? Perfect. Honestly can’t wait to come back again.

I have only gone twice for their break beats and ramen feel collaborations but the food was absolutely delicious. The service was exceptional and even though they were full they still kept an inviting and welcoming environment. The restaurant itself is very clean and has a comfortable feeling to it. This place has singlehandedly raised my standards for ramen. I can’t wait to visit to try their regular menu!!

For months, I’ve been meaning to share my love for Ramen Ichizu, a true gem in Salt Lake City’s dining scene. I’ve had the joy of witnessing their journey from a promising “soft opening” last summer to hosting exclusive pop-ups featuring some of Japan’s finest ramen chefs. Most recently, I braved a 3+ hour wait for their RamenFeel pop-up, that first bite made every second in line vanish from memory. It was that good.
Ramen Ichizu consistently delivers excellence, using top-quality, locally sourced ingredients and crafting their noodles fresh in-house. Mike and his team have perfected every detail, creating bowls that are not only mouthwateringly delicious but also remarkably consistent with every visit. This place is a must for ramen lovers!

I had the chance to go to the Ramen Feel pop-up at Ramen Ichizu, and honestly, it was one of the most special dining experiences I’ve had. The food was absolutely delicious—it didn’t feel like just another bowl of ramen, it felt like something a family member would lovingly make for you. Every bite was worth the 2.5-hour wait, and being one of the first in line made me realize how much care and detail Chef Watanabe put into this event.
I’ve seen some negative reviews from people upset about the line being cut off, and I think it’s important to put things into perspective. This was a pop-up—ingredients were limited, and the chef himself had just arrived from Japan at 5 a.m. before starting prep and later coming back for service. He could only serve so many people, and he deserved both rest and respect. If Chef Watanabe could have served everyone, I’m sure he would have, but that just wasn’t realistic for such a unique, handcrafted experience.
If you were lucky enough to get in, you knew that the wait had been 100% worth it.

Had a great time last time I went. Food was delicious and high quality as usual. Even got a chance to speak with the owner while sitting at the bar. You can tell he’s passionate about providing authentic and quality food. I’ve been a few times and will definitely be going again.

The ramen here in Salt Lake City is truly authentic, reminiscent of the delightful bowls I’ve savored in Tokyo. The restaurant is owned by a young Chinese-American woman who exudes warmth and hospitality. She’s always eager to assist and make everyone feel welcome. She even treated me to a complimentary mocktail, and she’s incredibly kind.
The menu boasts fantastic vegan and chicken ramen options, catering to diverse tastes. It’s a place I find myself returning to often, not just for the food, but also for the inviting atmosphere she creates.

The ramen at Ramen Ichizu was outstanding—some of the best I’ve had in the U.S. You can tell the owner likely trained in Japan; the depth of flavor, texture of the noodles, and balance in the bowl was spot-on.
That said, the service was seriously understaffed. One poor server had to do everything: seat guests, take orders, run food, refill drinks, clear tables—you name it. Not really his fault, but it’s not a sustainable system, especially for a dish like ramen that’s meant to be eaten hot and immediately before the noodles soak up the broth.
Until the service improves, your best bet is to arrive right when they open, before the rush hits. If they can match the front-of-house with the quality coming from the kitchen, this spot would easily be five stars.
Still, for the ramen alone—it’s absolutely worth a visit.

We came for guest chef Daisuke Watanabe’s collab pop-up with Ramen FeeL and it was incredible. The lines were long and reached capacity quickly but I thought they handled it very well, including counting the line multiple times to ensure they had enough bowls for everyone in line. They did have to turn people away once they reached capacity, but that’s normal and expected at an event like this. We waited close to 4 hours in line but we came prepared and expected to wait that long given the popularity of the event.
That being said: the food was incredible, genuinely the best ramen I’ve ever had, and I’ve had over 15 bowls in Japan. The soup was rich and flavorful, and the noodles were chewy, fresh, and delicious. The service team and staff were also very helpful and kind knowing that folks waited a long time. They checked on everyone in line throughout and paced the lunch service to ensure everyone had a good experience.
Having this level of dining in Salt Lake is a genuine treat and I’m so glad that Ramen Ichizu is pushing the food scene here into the upper leagues and attracting this level of talent to collab with. Thank you for the incredible meal and I will be back soon and often!
