This experience paled in comparison to the last time I was here a few years ago.
No more fresh bread, no assortment of food, just pre packaged cookies and a fridge full of over priced beer & beverages.
$7 for a beer isn’t the end of the world, but this used to be so much better than what we experienced today.
Definitely recommend just going somewhere else and eating beforehand.

Sad. Not much of a “bakery”… and forget about seeing a traditional colonial baker. Don’t waste the trip down the east end of Gloucester

If you have been here in the past and enjoyed the fresh baked treats, you will be severely disappointed in the current offerings of the bakery.
Gone are most of the old staples, the salesperson said they do bake ginger cookies once a day and they are sold out almost immediately.

The Raleigh Tavern Bakery is more of a food court than an actual bakery. The cookies are tasty but are prepackaged rather than fresh baked. They also have be beverages and coffee for sale. The building is colonial in appearance and is a replica of an actual building that would have been on the site. The staff are friendly and it’s fun.

What happened to the colonial Williamsburg of the 90s?? This bakery used to be a family favorite- fresh baked gingerbread and more. Now everything is packaged, tastes dry, and twice the price. Skip this stop and try a local coffee shop instead.

This cafe is more like a deli… prepackaged sandwiches and other food. The food was ok, but the sandwiches were rather dry. The glass bottled root beer and ginger cookies were good.

The fresh gingerbread cost is 3 for $4! It was delicious and hot with just a touch of crust on it. Oh to die for! The well dressed baker was kind and virtuous. Because it was Christmas time you can get a “fat man” ginger bread man cake which is also delicious. A ten percent discount is added for patriot pass or military. They offered breads and other cookies but we left with a huge bag of gingerbread!

It’s a good little place to pickup some pretty excellent baked goods. Recommend the cookies as they were basically amazing. Can’t wait to come back when we visit Williamsburg again!
