Canes Chicken West Des Moines Iowa
Very busy on a Sunday. Drive thru was hopping.
Inside there were a plethora of employees. It was very loud inside. So loud that I had a very tough time hearing the young man at the counter.
I ordered a 3 piece with well done fries. The order came out fast , clearly too fast for well done fries. I took the order back and rather than asking me if I wanted to keep the chicken and bread and they would bring the well done fries out they were going to dump it all. I got another basket and kept that part of my meal.
I should note that I’ve eaten at many Canes. I say well done and they call it back crisp, they come out “ fresh” but not well done every time.
Eventually I got them to well done after a bit of attitude by a young person who appeared in charge. As I walked away they were talking about me- unprofessional.
Overall the food ended up good.

The floor was dirty and many areas had debris on it. Many tables were dirty and the ones that weren’t dirty had smears from being wiped with an unclean towel or sponge.
The tables and floor were dirty when I arrived and no one cleaned anything the entire time I was there.

We stopped here for lunch and were very happy. The place had plenty of parking and was very clean throughout. Our order was taken quickly and the food was prepared fresh. Ordered the four finger meal and it was delicious! Would stop here again.

It was exactly what I expected – hot, fresh chicken tenders and delicious homemade lemonade. When we first walked in, the staff was in the middle of a meeting, but one of them promptly came over to assist us at the counter. Thankfully, we didn’t need any extra help, but I imagine it could have been a bit inconvenient if we had any questions, as no one was consistently at the counter.
All the food came out fresh, hot, and perfectly warm, and we had no issues with the drink selections. One thing I appreciate about Cane’s is their consistency; the quality of the food is always reliable. However, I do wish they offered spicy tenders or more size options to choose from.
The restaurant itself was very clean and well-organized, with a pleasant atmosphere. Once again, Cane’s delivered exactly what they’re known for – a great lunch experience.”

Have gone here several times and have never once had an issue. This time was different. My chicken isn’t even a chicken tender. It’s half of what it used to be. The fries have ZERO salt on them and anre very very soggy! The welcome was not very welcoming. All though they were fast with getting orders out. Use to love it and recommend it to others. Will not being that any more.

After traveling 3 hours in the car with my 4 kids the staff here was very helpful and patient. Wonderful service! Clean restaurant! And speedy too! Will stop here again next time thru!

The food is good and tastes delicious. My issue is that it is not accessible friendly. I need to use a mobility scooter due to stage 4 cancer and there is wasn’t a way we could see to easily get into the building. I would like to see that change. However, if you’re an able bodied person the food is great and the service is good!

Went through the drive through, ordered the 3 strip combo, chicken was the only thing that was good, your sign for crispy crinkle fries is false advertising, my fries were cold and soggy ( very disappointing) the sauce is not good and you should offer more choices of dipping sauces particularly bbq and honey mustard, also please add some different side choices as not everyone likes coleslaw and it literally makes me gag. I honestly don’t think there is anything special about this fast food place and my first time experience will be my last. Culver’s will always be my # 1 favorite fast food restaurant, they have never disappointed me, food has always been hot and fresh and they have a great selection of side choices with the bonus of delicious frozen custard treats, Canes doesn’t even have ice cream and that is sad.

The chicken was fresh and tender. It didn’t get 5 stars because it didn’t seem to have any flavoring. No seasoning of any kind. I hope it would have something different.
