Have been seeing the new Speedways with this and really wanted to try it. The only had 2 piece combo meals and didnt include the drink, which Im ok with, since places like that charge too much for pop anyway.. Price was $8 which was ok for what I got. Chicken wasn’t bad. A bit on the small side, about like KFC, but smaller than Popeyes (but less expensive than Popeyes). They were out of coleslaw, so I got green beans. They didnt have forks, so had to eat with a spoon. Not bad beans, but definitely needed salt and pepper. Biscuit was excellent. One counter employee was friendly and attentive, but the other was not. I dont know if businesses expect their employees to be friendly or if they actually even take the time to mentor young workers to learn how to be. Everything appeared clean, food was brought out quickly and was hot.

The chicken was dry, too much pepper on the chicken that was not suppose to be spicy. The brioche bun was dry and fell apart. Over all a waste of time and money.

23 south in Delaware location is sad. The chicken is over cooked and stringy. The spicy chicken isn’t made correctly.I love this chicken in the past, but the last 4 times I’ve been in it’s not good, as well as not made correctly for chicken labeled spicy. If you like roost chicken just keep driving by this location. They obviously hired people lately that don’t care or just can’t. It’s a shame because this was a great breakfast stop for truckers and everyone as well. Oh and I even mentioned to the manager weeks ago that they were not making the spicy chicken correctly but weeks later nothing has changed. I guess her pallet is boss over the roost chain recipe. I won’t be returning anymore for diesel Fuel and breakfast every day like I used to. Go to LOVES they know how to make food and are very friendly without cashier’s sitting in chairs. Sad sad sad.

What a waste. Everyone involved needs to visit a royal farms gas station. That is good chicken. The worst part is that I can go to any run down speedway and they’re standard speedway food is better. I can’t even get a hotdog here. The roller is always empty. It should be a crime to waste this much food. Everyone is just waiting for them to close. I don’t think it’s so much. The employees fault. I think its just the warmer dries out the chicken too fast. You know, it’s too big of a case. You can’t control the moisture. You just set a tray inside that giant case with some chicken and it’s gonna dry out in less than an hour and the price is just so high for dry chicken. Nobody’s gonna buy that chicken, give it up. It’s almost 11am. The only food that’s out is some chicken and egg burritos. What even is that?

GAS STATION CHICKEN…
I was excited when I heard something was going into Speedway, especially a chicken place. I have never been so disappointed in my life. It’s straight garbage. Not even sure if it’s real chicken.

Don’t waste your money. Soo expensive almost 19 bucks for 2 tenders LG mashed LG Mac. Get 5.50 up charge for each large side but don’t get small sides that was charge for with the 2 tender meal. I’m in disbelief. If I was not hungry and was not in semi truck would have went down the road. The chicken was dry. Sides warm barely. For a new business they sure makes this place a 1 and done. People do better. It’s reputation and repeated business that keep things going. Just put a bad taste in my mouth. Should have went hungry. Do better. I’m very fair in my opinion. I hate smashing new business. Would have loved to leave a great review. Not today

I found this by mistake looking for a place that is no longer open. The cashier said try it its really good food. I said what the heck and ordered a 2 piece chicken meal with mashed potatoes and gravy and Mac and cheese. The chicken was good a little dry but seasoned well and moist inside. The sides were both way better than expected. The mashed tasted like real mashed the gravy was like what you would find at a nice diner and the Mac is very good. The chicken I would say is on par with KFC the sides much better comparably. After reading all the reviews that I saw I had to post my own because my experience was much better.

For gas station food it’s not bad. Got 2 biscuit sandwiches in the morning, 1 chicken & 1 sausage. Chicken had good flavor and didn’t taste old. Sausage tasted better than most breakfast sausage. Biscuits were passable for the north. So not Tudors or Biscuitville quality but definitely a step or two above McDonalds.

Returned for lunch. Chicken sandwich is 2 tenders on a bun with a mildly spicy sauce and pickles. Chicken was seasoned with pepper. Nothing amazing but a step above most gas station food. Competent, friendly staff at 1:00.

Absolutely love this place. For ‘gas station’ food, it certainly doesn’t taste like that. Proportions are always good compared to price, food is hot and fresh when you order it and they employees there are amazing as well. One employee, Bree, was an amazing individual.

If you want to know the under belly of Roost. Here ya go. There food is never fresh, it’s a 2 hour hot hold on chicken and they will serve you 4 hour old chicken, they just change stickers when the time expired. The friers never get filtered after every few drops. The employees are lazy and hardly work. The dishes are never clean and will use old cold nasty water to clean them. I suggested never get a job here or eat here.
