Update: We came for their prime rib dinner for two $39.99. Only on Fri and Sat. The prime rib was excellent as well as the clam chowder. We will definitely be back for the prime rib and their breakfast.

The service and food was excellent. I had the country fried steak and eggs 17.95. The steak was fried just right, crispy on the outside but tender on the inside. The hash browns and the biscuit were good. My wife had the half order which had half the steak and only one egg for 11.95, which was perfect for her.

Rainbow Café in Auburn is such a gem! We went on a Monday morning for breakfast, and from the moment we walked in, the place had a lively and welcoming vibe. It was very clean and quite busy, which is always a good sign that the food is worth it.

I ordered the veggie scramble, and it did not disappoint. It came out quickly, piping hot, and beautifully presented. The portion was generous, and the price was very reasonable for the quality and amount of food. My nephew ordered the bear pancakes, and they were a total hit, not only were they adorable, but he loved them so much he kept talking about them the rest of the day. Watching him enjoy his meal made the whole experience even better.

The only downside was the service. Our server felt a bit dry and not very engaged. My 2.5-year-old nephew doesn’t eat meat, so I asked if he could have fries or something else instead. She said it would cost extra, which I completely understood, but in the end, the fries never came. It left the interaction feeling a little rushed and dismissive. Hopefully, it was just an off day.

That aside, Rainbow Café really delivers everything you want from a classic breakfast spot: hearty, well-prepared food, generous portions, kid-friendly options, and a clean, bustling atmosphere. I’d absolutely come back again and recommend it, especially for families with kids, because those bear pancakes are unforgettable!

Food was not as requested. We noticed since moving to WA a lot of restaurants love their butter and their parmesan cheese. So have learned to ask without it. Here, they love their butter. We asked our dish without butter. We had a simple meal, eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast. The whole meal was made with butter. Fat from the bacon could be used, just saying, but instead tasted like half a stick of butter. Not a place for us but might be a place for you, if you love you some butter

First time here staff was very pleasant. Even tho the booths were pretty small the food was good with very good portions. I got the 10oz sirloin with veggies and mash. Definitely filling and not overseasoned. I would love to come back and give the breakfast menu a try. Looking around at other plates breakfast seemed to be the main hit.

Bartender was very sweet and kind. The food was horrible….. i ordered a blt no lettuce with mayo n mustard. cold burnt bacon, burnt bread hard as can be. The fries where burnt and cold caked in salt. I took 2 bites both times i spit it out. I hurt my mouth trying to bite through it. Then i opened it saw burnt bacon… burnt everything. Worse food ive ever had. Bartender was so kind. I payed full price and told her about the food. She said she would talk to the cook. I am very disappointed…

Rainbow Cafe is a neighborhood feel good spot with GREAT quality food for the price. The people are down to earth and the atmosphere is comfortable. The Bloody Mary’s are good and the bar and restaurant are separated if you please. I’ll definitely go back. Our server / bartender Nicole was cool as ever. Definitely somewhere you can be yourself and enjoy a great meal.

We went to Rainbow Café today for breakfast and tried the Country-Style Chicken Fried Steak with gravy, eggs, and hashbrowns. The food was just okay — nothing special, and I wouldn’t really recommend it.

We also tried their pancakes, and those were actually really good — soft, fluffy, and cooked just right.

It took about 30 minutes to get our food, so the service was pretty slow. The place itself is nice and cozy, but overall, the experience was mixed — great pancakes, average main dish, and slow service.
