We had the pleasure tonight to get in as part of your soft opening & so glad we did! We enjoying having Alana (I hope I spelled her name correctly) as our server who made us feel very welcome & took great care of us from start to finish.
My hubby & I shared the pimento cheese curds with rail sauce & they came out screaming hot and delicious.
I had the Italian chopped salad with salmon & roasted garlic dressing and my hubby had the shrimp & grits. I really enjoyed the char on the salmon & how perfectly it was cooked. The crunchy chick peas and soft mozorella cheese crumbles complemented it well. I brought half home to enjoy for lunch tomorrow My hubby (and I as I sampled it, too) enjoyed his shrimp & grits immensely. He received a generous amount of tasty shrimp in the dish, the grits were cooked very nicely, and it had a nice smokey flavor.
When the chicken dishes were “86’d”, you took care of my hubby & even upgraded my Italian salad which you didn’t have to do but we greatly appreciated It’s a soft opening but we still enjoyed our experience & the “lively” atmosphere tonight
Our only recommendations/suggestions would be to replace the standard s&p shakers with grinder-style (as I think freshly cracked pepper and ground salt accentuate the food better) and to ensure to provide plates for sharing with appetizers

We dined at Railside Friday night and it was DELICIOUS!!! Had shrimp and grits and Mardi Gras wings for an appetizer… wings were done perfectly!!! Crispy and just the right amount of heat… the shrimp and grits? Awesome!! They used quality grits (which makes all the difference) and they are excellent… next time you go, ask to sit in Melissa’s section… Great hire Amanda!!!
Please patronize this place… they got it going on and we need them to succeed in Tryon… they will only get better. They listen to their customers and respond accordingly .

The salad was fresh and dressed perfectly with Nathan’s recommendation of apple cider vinaigrette. The salmon I asked for on top was slightly charred and perfectly prepared. Chef’s kiss! We also ordered a turkey BLT and every part of it from the extremely fresh sourdough to the meaty bacon and creamy mayo was perfect. Five stars aren’t enough!

Not to good. My wife ask for her bread to be extra toasted on her turkey BLT and one piece was not toasted at all, soggy and disgusting. My fries were not hot, but my smash burger was good. No refill on my tea. They need lots of help getting those systems in place or it will not last.

Stopped by there tonight and was contemplating eating there with my daughters but when I asked for a menu the person coming out of the door rolled her eyes and said I could ask the hostess at the front. I expect not to get eye rolls when asking for something. Some gentleman sitting down outside said I could look at his but I teach my kids not to give those facial expressions and expect better service than that. She was apologetic after I said nevermind and was trying to have me change my mind but it was too late.

First visit tonight, can’t wait to return! Welcoming atmosphere, owners, chef and staff. The salmon, shrimp and grits, ice cream topped warm brownie were awesome, we’ll be back!
