Absolutely five stars—no hesitation ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
If you’re anywhere near southern Indiana and haven’t been to Rails & Ales in Georgetown, you are seriously missing out.
From the moment you walk in, the vibe is warm, welcoming, and effortlessly cool—equal parts cozy and polished. The staff is phenomenal: friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to have you there. You never feel rushed, yet everything flows perfectly.
Now let’s talk about the food, because wow. Every dish feels thoughtfully crafted and beautifully plated, with flavors that punch way above what you’d expect for a local spot. The steaks are cooked to perfection, the sides are rich and comforting, and everything tastes fresh and intentional. It’s the kind of meal where everyone at the table goes quiet for a second because it’s just that good.
The drink selection is equally impressive—great beers, solid cocktails, and something for everyone whether you’re celebrating or just unwinding after a long day.
Rails & Ales somehow manages to feel perfect for a date night, a girls’ night, a family dinner, or a “treat yourself” evening. It’s the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit.
Consistently excellent food, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere—Rails & Ales is an absolute gem and hands-down one of the best dining experiences in the area.

My general overview is that the food is good, but the service could be better. We came for lunch, and we were the only customers there. Our waiter was friendly, but not very attentive, especially after the food came. I basically needed a refill the whole time, and she did not bring one even after I asked. It took a good while for things to come out of the kitchen, which was a bit concerning since we were the only customers there. The food was good when it came out, though! The pretzels and beer cheese were good. The loaded fries were good as well. I feel like the fries could have been a little crispier because they got soggy pretty fast. I had the black and bleu burger, which was really good! My mom had the fish and chips, and it was good to her. We had a baby in our group, and there is no changing table in the bathroom, which was very inconvenient, especially since this is a big family community. Overall, I feel like the service could be much better, but if you’re looking for a good place to eat, the food is good. If you’re on a time crunch, though, I would not come here.

We stopped in on Saturday (1/31) for an early dinner and were very impressed! The special was the Club Burger — we added onion rings, and it was excellent. I paired mine with a 12oz pour of the Southern Tier Caramel Cookie Bar Imperial Pastry Stout, and if you’re a KBS fan, this one’s a winner!
We also ordered the Fish & Chips with crispy Brussels sprouts, which made for a great finish. Their coleslaw is top‑notch, too! I tried the house Steam Engine IPA to round out the meal — overall, a fantastic experience.
If you’re in Georgetown (IN), give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed! Outstanding wait staff and service all around!

We had a great experience here. Food was outstanding, service was excellent, and they were able to sit out large party almost immediately. We had just about everything on the menu between everyone and it was all delicious and cooked properly. I had the smoked wings and collard greens and the wings were great but the greens are some of, if not the best I’ve ever had. The pretzel and beer cheese was great as well as the goat cheese fried cheese curds! Decent beer selection and I’d love to see them brewing their own beer. All in all, this place is a must try.

A new treasure that should not be missed. Atmosphere so welcoming and comfortable you feel like family. Food options that sound so good that you want to order one of everything. Portions are very generous. Food flavors that excite the tastebuds causing you want to keep eating regardless of how full your body is telling you.
Give it a try, you won’t regret the choice.

Honestly impressed by the better quality Onion rings. They obviously spent time making out different in a meaningful way and it was so worth it. Atmosphere is the best in Georgetown but the competition isn’t very stiff. This place is an awesome addition to the community! Our waitress was very pleasant and went above and beyond for us!

Servers were friendly and the food was amazing. The only thing I would change is the seating. I wish they had more booths because high top tables are hard on my back. But the food was definitely worth the uncomfortable seating. I will be returning. I highly recommend the onion rings.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Bar area is awesome and we got lucky there was live music. Our server (I believe her name was Chloe) was great. The food was delicious and we got good sized portions. We enjoyed that there were couches, high tops, and a booth at the bar. Having just moved to Georgetown, we have found a great place for good food in the area.

Second day they were open so forgive the servers sloth like deliverys. She was a lovely human but strapped and has to walk a flight of steps for everything forgotten..We waited about 20 minutes to recieve two small cereal sized salad bowls of 95% iceburg lettuce.Good thing we added the protien (four small shrimp)for way too much money although they were warm and delicious way too much asked for this tiny salad..I looked forward to eatting it but they forgot the dressing so I waited while I saw our waitress come n go up steps twice with no ranch.Third time she walked past us entering the bar and coming out with three tiny lemons in a shot glass that we requested from the start..I reminded her I needed ranch for my salad and down the steps she went.Over half hour hadn’t eaten yet and my French onion soup came by another waitress. It looked delicious..and would be a feast for a 4 year old..it was maybe 4 ounces..not even a small cups worth.I will include pictures, you decide if my words are accurate.Wonderful new atmosphere and will try them again n see if anything changes n try some other food, soooo disappointed in paying near $50 for two cereal bowls of iceburg lettuce and one French onion soup (only one size available it didn’t mention size)..I had water my husband Pepsi Zero that we waited 15 minutes for a to go cup she said they had no lids for that never came.
Also,I’ve come to see there were no smoked tomato’s on our salads either..Sure hope things get better for all of us,this brand new place has wonderful potential.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant, it was super cute inside very welcoming. The staff was very friendly. The food came out correct and hot staff was very attentive. A chef from the kitchen named Micha came to our table to check and ask how our food was 10 out of 10. Highly recommended..
