A friend invited us on a Rail Trail walk. My wife and I have walked other parts of the rail trail but this part was new to us. You need to follow your GPS to find this parking lot. This area of the trail is great. We walked north past the Rosendale Trestle about 1.6 miles from the Cafe and then went a little south of the Cafe to round out our walk to 4 miles.
We had lunch at the Cafe. We had four individual pizza pies. Two “Simple” pizzas (tomato, cheese, fresh basil), one Super Green gluten free and one Greek Olive pie. We took home a Brian’s Burrito. Everything was delicious. There is a large wood fired oven which they cooked the pizzas and the Black Beans in.
The staff here were all so friendly. It’s such a cool place. I would love to come back to see a concert and also to take a longer walk.

Amazing Trailside stop, kinda good menu, but the woman who is working or owns it, lost her personality in-between Kingston and New Paltz.
Got drinks and refused to purchase anything else.
BTW-I had drinks that I brought with me and was trying to do a Trailside solid!

Very cool spot, stumbled upon on our ride through rosendale. Right next to the rail trail and also live music! The pizza was made in a very unique oven must see. Different style pizza, thin crust and light.

The pizza here is great! Real Wood-Fire pizza oven, crispy thin crust, great toppings. Prices are good too. They also have Fresh scones & coffee in the mornings. Music and/or theater some nights.
A great stop off the rail trail it’s built on, or if you’re camping at the Hipcamp across the way. Bicycle rentals next door.

Great stop off place while enjoying the rail trail. The coffee is delicious and fresh. They make wood fire pizzas. Staff were very friendly and inviting. Great location. Stop by on weekends there’s music. Fantastic idea. You can access it walking, biking or drive off Spring town or River Rd.

I really really want to try this place. I’ve walked past it four times. Once in Autumn twice in winter and once yesterday in the middle of July. It has been closed all times. There was a forecast for rain yesterday so likely that’s why they were closed.
It looks like such an incredibly fun place. When I was sitting on the chairs in the empty outdoor space, a local came by off the empire State trail and was sad that they were closed because their pizza was so good and she was looking forward to it.
My guy, they even have trailside pizza. There is no way to contain the depths of my sadness. Perhaps one day I shall experience the beauty, nay the glory of the Rail Trail Cafe, but it shall not be this day.
So call in advance is what I’m saying.

Beautiful brickoven pizza place in the middle of the woods. It is magical. Just expect a long wait for the pizza because it is made from scratch! It is worth it. Also try out their Ginger Ale we liked it!
