This is my second visit. My first visit we sat out on the patio. The entire wall to the restaurant opens up and extends the dining onto the patio with the little pond and sprinkler as a backdrop.
Great location, nice new facility with new and clean atmosphere (and bathrooms), great food and a killer beer selection.
It’s becoming popular fast, so get there early and don’t miss out.
Enjoy.
They serve very large portions but I did the grilled chicken Mac and cheese and a side salad and they were both great. I spent $20 for my entire meal – the prices are very reasonable.
Next to Aloft hotel, with a beautiful private party room overlooking the fountain/water feature behind the hotel and indoor and outdoor seating. I highly recommend stopping in here. They’re still on their soft opening, so expect some changes, but I will definitely be coming back during my stay in Wichita.
We were seated a little bit after 15 min. It took about 15 min before someone came and asked for our drinks and told us our waiter would be right with us. Once our waiter finally came over, we placed our appetizer order as well as our entrees. We sat and waited about 45 minutes before our waiter came back to check on us again and this was when we waved him over to refill a drink and asked how much longer it would be for our chips and queso. We finally got our appetizer after waiting an hour, followed by our entrees. Food was delicious! And priced accordingly. We ordered the open face haystack and the mushroom and spinach Mac and cheese. So flavorful and delicious! Atmosphere was pretty neat and open. When it came time for our check, our waiter came over, threw our check on the table and walked off to another table, didn’t even acknowledge us. We were just taken back by the terrible service we received. We weren’t rude as we know this was still their soft opening month and they were pretty slammed on a Saturday evening. It was just an awful first time experience, customer service-wise. Will we be back? Probably but not for a while. We will give them some time to work out all the kinks once they’re fully open before we return and hope their service improves.
They did manage to capture some of the charm of The Anchor in a larger space. The 4 star for the atmosphere is only because it was noisy and hard to hear for a normal conversation.
I can’t wait to take in the patio vibe when the weather turns warmer!
The pastrami was fantastic. I probably would have liked it with some type of vegetable in it for some crunch but the meat was stellar, even more so when dipped in the mustard that comes on the side. Fries came out hot and crispy.
The fried pickles had a little spice and crunchy outside.
Waitress was prompt and polite. The only reason 5 stars were not awarded was just a lack of engagement.
