We celebrated my mom’s birthday here and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was welcoming and festive, and the food was phenomenal. What truly stood out, was our server, Ada. We noticed she was the only server on a very busy Friday night, yet she was incredibly attentive, caring, and on top of everything. She never made us feel rushed or forgotten and went out of her way to make my mom feel extra special on her birthday. Her positive energy and exceptional service made the entire night even more memorable. We will definitely be back for future celebrations!

After visiting so many Puerto Rican restaurants by far this was my best one. Owner was friendly, the vibe was great. Food was absolutely delicious. I am a food critic but this place RIGHT here didnt dissapoint. The decor, the ambience, the service was OUTRAGEOUS. Will definately visit again, plus letting all my people know they must GO. I was all hype up to try this place…
We walked in and they sat us right away , 3 of US,
But the table was dirty.
I told myself “give it a chance “
20 minutes passed
And finally the waitress came ( I felt really bad for her ) it was busy.
But that did not help that the owner instead of helping her and the establishment he was drinking away.
She took the drink and food order.
Plastic cups for alcohol drinks ( small cups) the bartender needs to work on the drinks!
Food came out 40 minutes later
My food came out cold ( mofongo~pollo al ajillo) see pic.
Bacalaito and alcapuria was ok!
The other order did not come out.
The Owner try to apologize but i felt he got offended when I expressed my opinion, he apologized and stated that it will be on the house and walked away.
We waited to see the waitress to give her a tip ~ she was trying really hard and kept apologizing for the wait!
When we decided to leave we found the owner by the bar drinking and again trying to say he was really sorry but kept drinking.
Buddy/ Owner this tip is for you:
Stop the drinking and focus on the establishment that you have and staff , training is needed big time!
We left, I will NOT be going there ever!
You can go to any other cuchifrito and get better food and service!

Last night was our third time here and it never disappoints! This time we brought our friends. We all loved it! Our waitress/bar tender named Ida was amazing. So sweet and took care of us so well . Such a great person and host. The food is beyond amazing we ordered basically everything lol. Im disappointed on a Saturday night there wasn’t many locals here. Come on oceanside! Support this local business!!!!

Fourth Chizzle
Place ran out of Aguacate relleno and Tostones rellenos. Beans came out 45min later. The Mofongo was very bland. The decor was cute inside; place was cold music was too loud where we sat down. Food looked good but it wasnt. Skirt steak was good not the mofongo.

Me and my fiancé had dinner here tonight and let me tell you… the food was absolutely amazing!!! I had the mofongo with pork chunks and my fiancé had the pernil with arroz and habichuelas. We have lived in NYC our whole lives and tried several mofongos but this was absolutely one of the best. The appetizers were fresh and we could tell they were made in house. Please Oceanside don’t sleep on this authentic Puerto Rican experience. P.S. the music and service was also wonderful.

First off, The aroma of cooked food welcomes you to moms house for real! It brought me back to when I would come home from school and moms got the steak and onions cooking! The only think that is missing are the guys outside playing dominoes and the Coqui going off. Truly a fantastic REAL Puerto Rico experience! Take the family and just enjoy the vibes and delicious food that I had the please of enjoying.

As a boricua myself I really felt at home in this place. I enjoyed the food, the service and the atmosphere. Took my mother here for her birthday and the rest of my family. We all loved it and felt truly taken care of and we can’t wait to come back again ❤️

What can I say?! It was excellent and I wiped my whole plate clean. The flavors are definitely straight from the island. You will not be disappointed if you are looking for topical puertorrican food.
