My wife is Honduran and beings the cincy area has little to no Honduran restaurants we like to give places a try, even if we have to drive an hour.
This was by far the worst place I’ve ever had Honduran food whether it be from other restaurants, family members cooking, or from food trucks.
Over 20$ for an order of Pollo con tajadas which includes a small drum stick of chicken and a pinch worth of tajadas
Have you ever had a Baleada without mantequilla??!! Neither have I! Until today!! This is a travesty! That’s like not putting cheese on a hamburger! What makes it worse is the name of the restaurant is “Big Baleada” as if that’s what they specialize in! But nope, SUPER SENCILLO!
I’m not writing this review to deter people from going there, I’m writing this review hoping the owner sees this and makes the necessary changes!
Wanna charge 20$ for Pollo con tajadas? Fine, I get it inflation is real and food ain’t cheap, but for 20$ it better be damn good, and be a filling meal!
Wanna name your restaurant “Big Baleada” fine, that Baleada better be atleast decent with some flavor and some damn mantequilla!!!!!
Very disappointed in what I experienced today.

Big Baleada indeed! We recently stopped by for an early dinner and were rewarded with a delicious, affordable meal with large portions. We loved the pupusas, the very big and filling baleada con pollo, and the always comforting yuca con chicharron (the peppery encurtido helps cut the richness of the pork).

I recently visited Big Baleada and was absolutely blown away! This hidden gem serves up the most delicious Honduran food I’ve ever had. The tacos fritos were so wiggle-in-your-seat good that I couldn’t help but smile. The pupusas were soft and flavorful and the empanadas were hearty and delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a unique and authentic culinary experience. Big Baleada is a must-try!
Pictured is the tacos fritos.

Just happened to pass by Big Baleada and decided to stop by. So glad we did! Cute little place that offers Honduran food for dine in or take out. We had the Papusas and two of the breakfast platters (egg, avocado, beans, plantains, and carne). All so good! Oh the horchata was great as well!

If your pallet is cultured in the aspects of food you know honduran food is vibrant and alive with flavors. I am sad and disappointed to have to tell you Big Baleada is nothing big to talk about, this restaurant provides no flavor nor big portions as it boasts about. The service is poor lacking a welcoming feel to it. I had ordered a chicharron , bean and cheese papusa and a steak taco. The chicharron bean and cheese papusa, very much lacked chicharron as well as cheese. It seemed to be such as just a bean papusa, as well unfortunately the taco steak meat was very bland . I don’t suggest you come here if your looking for somthing to dazzle your taste buds or a well communicated pleasant expireance with your servers

Since coming back from a trip to Roatán in April I’ve been craving baleadas so bad. I finally was in the Dayton area and stopped into Big Baleadas. Don’t let the neighborhood and decor fool you: this food is LEGIT good. Honestly the best pupusas I’ve ever had and the baleadas are authentic too. Some reviews said the service took too long, but honestly it seemed on par with every other authentic Hispanic restaurant I’ve been to. Quality takes TIME but we were still in and out within an hour. My husband (Nicaraguan) said the enchiladas were just as good as his mother’s and the curtido on the side really took it over the top.

Beware of Price Scam!!!
This experience deserves a warning!
My husband and I are both Hispanic and were craving Latin food so we decided to visit this restaurant. We were seated and had been at the restaurant for quite a while before the waitress finally told us that the prices on the menu were not accurate, and that each of the item we were about to order would actually cost almost $10 more than listed (each one!!!) There were no signs or disclaimers about this anywhere, and the menu clearly showed much lower prices. When we asked about a menu with the accurate and correct prices we were told that there was no one.
At that point, we chose to leave without eating, as we felt this was dishonest, deceptive and unacceptable. Please be cautious of this misleading pricing if you decide to eat there.

It’s a small place but the food is really good. Everyone once in a while I go back and it never disappoints. This is one of those restaurants in Dayton that just doesn’t get the attention it deserves. 4.8/5. Would recommend.
