Great lake restaurant off the beaten path. The catfish was delicious and the Caesar salad was just right on the dressing…I did have to ask for parmesan and croutons to add to it. The burger was a little too thick and somewhat dry, so stick to the other items maybe

There was a wait but we did not mind given we could walk towards the water and enjoy the breeze and the view. The live band made for a great atmosphere.

Had the opportunity to go here the other day with some friends first time here. It was a very enjoyable outside with a lot of things to do. Being so close to the lake was nice watching the boats come and go.
The food was delicious I enjoy the burger had a few appetizers with the group. I will be back I recommend it if anybody is in town for a view of the lake and a relaxing day.

We’ve been coming to Rafters on the Water since last year after buying our boat, especially after a day on the lake—it used to be one of our favorite spots. Unfortunately, this recent visit today was a huge letdown, and it’s clear things have changed for the worse since the new ownership took over earlier this year.

The food quality has taken a serious nosedive. The burgers and chicken were dry and completely flavorless. The nachos came out with barely any meat or cheese—more like sad chips with a garnish than a real appetizer. The kids’ grilled cheese? A single dab of nacho cheese between two slices of bread. Honestly, the only thing that’s still decent are the fries.

It feels like the focus has shifted away from food entirely, turning the place into more of a party bar scene—probably trying to capitalize on the Oxford crowd. That’s fine if that’s the goal, but it’s a real loss for families and anyone who came for a good meal in a laid-back lakeside setting.

This was our first visit of the summer, and sadly, it’ll also be the last. Super disappointed.

Heard about Rafters at the Ole Miss football game. We decided to try it out on the way back home. It did not disappoint. Good food. My wife had the chicken salad sandwich with potato salad and I went with shrimp poboy. All was very good. The French bread for the poboy was perfect. The potato salad stood out. But the atmosphere on the lake combined with the friendly, attentive staff is why Rafters is a must, relaxing visit.

TL;DR: Try the Crawfish Rolls. Parties of 6+ pay 20% gratuity. Very laid back atmosphere.

We stopped in on a weekend by the lake and had heard this place had a relaxed atmosphere and good views. Both were true.

When we arrived, there was a 45 minute wait and the place was packed. It’s an open air (at least in the summer) laid back lakeside restaurant by the marina. The wait ended up being closer to 20 min and the bar was open for drinks before we got a table. We were able to wait in another area with a secondary bar that was unfortunately not open on our visit.

There is a stagw for live music but no one was playing on our visit.

We started with a couple appetizers for the table and a few drinks (each ~$10).

The Crawfish Rolls are unlike anything I’ve ever had. It tasted like Crawfish et Toufe stuffed into a crescent roll. The kids wouldn’t eat a “mudbug” but they just failed to understand that crawfish is essentially a freshwater lobster.

We also had the Mozzarella Cheese Sticks. 8 came in a pan as opposed to the usual 4-5 at most places. They were delicious and optionally served with a marinara that is slightly sweet and tangy.

My wife had a Rafters Swashbuckler. This was probably the worst swashbuckler I’d ever tasted, but she like it. It was a bit boozier than usual.

My sister had a Rafters Sangria. Not sweet at all and definitely a white wine sangria made with vodka.

I had a “London” style Not Your Mother’s Mule ( Moscow Mule made with Gin instead of Vodka). It was the perfect pallet cleanser with an excellent dry ginger finish

I followed that with a Rootbeer Float. It wasn’t anything special, but at $4 it was a sweet treat while waiting on our food. It also arrived in a blue “Rafters” souvenir cup like all non-alcoholic drinks (except water).

One member of our party had the catfish and noted it had an excessively fishy flavor. The rest had burgers and loved them.

I however had the Chaud Poulet a chicken sandwich that was delicious. The fries that came with it were almost as good as the burger itself.

Our waitress at Rafters was super nice and brought our food out quickly! She sat us in a nice location and made sure we had everything we needed. We went last year and the food was really good and had no complaints but this year I was really disappointed. I ordered the shrimp platter with fries and potato salad. My bf ordered the chicken salad sandwich with fries. The shrimp platter was pretty good and tasted about the same as last time! What really concerned me was the fries and potato salad. French fries had a faint taste of almost a rotten flavor, I thought it was the seasoning but it had to definitely be the fries itself, my bf also felt the same. The potato salad didn’t taste bad but definitely made differently than normal potato salad and couldn’t finish it. He was not a fan of the chicken salad sandwich and that most of the chicken salad was on the plate when it arrived to the table. I’m not sure if it’s the new ownership but definitely wasn’t like last time. Might I add the alcoholic drinks were good but social media pictures looked a lot different than in person..

Cool place on Sardis Lake to eat. Outside bar and tables to watch the game and enjoy the beautiful views. staff was quick and helpful. Food was good. Different options then the regular choices. I got the adult grilled cheese which was awesome. The appetizer size was also very good for the price. Satisfied over all. Would definitely go back. The night we went was a little chilly. I can only imagine what’d it would be like on a beautiful sunny and breezy day. Must check this place out. They also have bands too.

Nice atmosphere, but the food didn’t impress. The batter had way too much black pepper that it made the fried shrimp and fried okra spicy. Shrimp Poboy only had 4 pieces of shrimp. For more than $15, I felt it wasn’t enough. No kid size drinks which is strange since they do have a kids menu, expect to pay over $3 each for drinks for kids.

I really appreciated the fast service and friendly staff here. Drinks and fries were definitely the highlight of the meal—great taste and fresh! However, the main dishes fell short. One of the burgers came out burnt, and the other wasn’t cooked all the way through. The BBQ had a lot of fat and was also a bit burnt. Unfortunately, for a $100 bill, I was hoping for a better overall experience. With a bit of attention to cooking, this place could really be better.
