Raffi’s Place is one of the well-known and long-standing Persian restaurants in Glendale, and the space itself is impressive, large, lively, and well suited for groups and family gatherings.

The service was fast and efficient, and everything was handled smoothly despite how busy the restaurant was. The food was acceptable and authentic in style, though more in line with everyday, casual Persian restaurants rather than something exceptional. It reminded me of typical bazaar-style restaurants in Tehran, familiar and satisfying, but not particularly standout in quality.

Overall, it’s still a solid option for classic Persian food, especially for the atmosphere, portion sizes, and efficient service.

Given the service speed, it is advisable to request your check in advance of completing your meal.

The food portions were generous, which was satisfactory for my dietary preferences as a vegan. My colleague found the fish to be excessively pungent, necessitating a replacement. This resulted in a somewhat dry beef dish, though it was still acceptable. The venue offers ample space and complimentary 90-minute public parking.

We recently dined at Raffie’s Restaurant, and overall the experience was good, definitely above average. We ordered the Sultani kabab, chicken kabab, and fesenjoon. The portions were generous, and the food looked great. The kebabs were tasty but a bit on the salty side. The fesenjoon, while decent, didn’t quite have the traditional flavor we were expecting.

The service was friendly and overall good, but not top-notch. A few simple things were forgotten, which made the experience feel slightly less polished.

Overall, it’s a solid place with good food and large portions, but there’s room for improvement in both flavor consistency and service attention.

Five stars and honestly if I could give it more I would. We came to Raffi’s Place and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we made the entire trip.

Let me start with the koobideh because that’s the real test of any Persian restaurant. If you can’t get the koobideh right nothing else matters. Raffi’s gets it right. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, that char on the outside with the softness on the inside that only comes from someone who has been doing this a very long time. This wasn’t good koobideh. This was the koobideh. The one you’ll be thinking about on the plane ride home.

The soltani was even better if that’s possible. That combination of koobideh and barg together on one plate with the rice and the grilled tomato, everything working together, nothing competing. Just a perfect plate of food. Simple, honest, executed at the highest level.

The service matched the food which is rare. Our server was attentive without hovering. Checked on us at the right moments, gave us space when we were talking, made us feel like guests not customers. When they found out it was our anniversary there was a warmth to the whole experience that felt personal, not rehearsed.

The atmosphere tied it all together. Clean, elegant, not trying to be something it’s not. Just a beautiful restaurant that knows exactly what it is and does it better than anyone else.

If you’re anywhere near Glendale and you love Persian food, this is the spot. No debate.

My order: koobideh, tadig with ghormehsabzi and gheimeh. I haven’t been to another Persian restaurant that can top how Raffi’s flavors their koobideh. It’s rich in flavor and juicy. This place is typically always busy, but definitely worth the wait (I’ve never waited longer than 30 minutes). After all, there’s a reason that there is a wait! Been coming here for years!

This place gets packed on a weekend, even after lunch. For 2, we quickly got seated outdoor. We ordered the baba ganoush, lentil soup, and the Soltani kabob with the Persian rice.

The baba ganoush was on the sweeter side. Lentil soup was ok. The Soltani took a bit longer to cook. First of all, the plate is massive. I’m glad I shared it. The minced beef kabob was great. It’s their signature dish and it’s very flavorful. The filet mignon is quite juicy as well. The Persian rice was ok, the fruit one was too sweet.

I would just come back for their kabobs. It is expensive at $40 per plate. Overall, very generous portions and good beef.

Visited from Toronto yesterday and came here for a meal. Growing up our family in LA used to take me here as a child, so it has a special nostalgic place in my heart.

I had the privilege of bringing my wife here after 18 years of not being in LA and it did not disappoint. She said it was the best she’s ever had.

The food was just as amazing as I had remembered it growing up. The best kabobs ever. The portions were huge, the taste was amazing, and the staff were great.

Thank you for the great experience!

Raffi’s is known for its food. This was my second time here and I was not disappointed however, the weight was a little unnerving luckily, we were able to walk around near my miles. They charge $14 for parking that you can easily also park one or two blocks away at public parking lot. The could be there and the chicken thighs were excellent as well as the appetizers and specifically the Tadig the service was relatively fast, and they were communicating that the kebabs will take a little longer due to the backlog of orders.

Some of my earliest and most cherished memories growing up were with family at Raffis Place. What a wonderful spot to gather with family and enjoy good food with one another. The top notch quality and service has not changed a bit for the past 20 years. The koobideh with baghali polo is my all-time favorite!

The Gheymeh Bademjan was delicious and I had more rice than I could possibly eat. The food was good but not what I’m accustomed to for Persian food. The atmosphere felt more like an upscale cafeteria. Service was very attentive and kind.
