Great little gem. Really cozy inside. I’ve lived in Paris and the quality of the pastries are as good as in France. Flaky and soft croissants, excellent quiches and great coffee.
A must stop for a great breakfast or brunch if you are hanging around Canterbury.

Great French cafe in Canterbury just as you pass through the Westgate. Food is delicious and the service is very friendly and fast. The pastries are not to be missed! The atmosphere is charming and cozy. Very reasonably priced and I would definitely stop in again when I am in Canterbury. All though space is small inside they have a nice garden in the back (weather permitting). They were very accommodating to my partner who is disabled. Thanks to the staff for such great service!

We stumbled upon this lovely café and were so glad we did! They have a beautiful garden area — peaceful, cozy, and perfect for relaxing. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better.
We had an iced coffee and a cappuccino — both delicious. The food was amazing as well! We tried their famous honey cake, which reminded us a bit of Napoleon cake, but honestly, it was even better. So rich, light, and flavorful — absolutely loved it.
We also had croissants, and they were unlike any we’ve tried before. They were sliced open and stuffed generously — mine was filled with ham and cheese, and my girlfriend had one with mushrooms. Super tasty and really unique!
Everything was fresh and full of flavor, but what stood out the most was the warm atmosphere and kind staff. Highly recommended!

A lovely little oasis in St Peter’s Street. It is very pleasant to sit in the garden away from the hustle & bustle of the city. There is a varied menu including filled baguettes, croissants and delicious pastries.
The croque monsieur & the petit dejeuner are favourites with us.

My husband and I stopped here for late lunch. Staff are all friendly and warm welcoming. Small dinning area but enough to enjoy and also available garden seating. My husband had a ham and chess croissant it was very nice. And salad is worth to pay. Lovely !!! And they have chocolate pistachio cake it’s not really sweat, and tasty great! You should try. When is nice weather we may Come back.

We got to pick from a lovely selection of pastries. The ham and cheese croissant was incredibly cheesy with just the right amount of ham—easily one of the better ones I’ve had. ✨ The chocolate croissant was beautifully flaky, buttery, and generously filled. We also tried the German sausage, which was okay—not the highlight, but the sauce was nice.
The coffees were good, though I’d recommend adding sugar, as most people seemed to do. A popular choice was the Petit Déjeuner à la Française, a mini breakfast with a piece of bread, a pastry, and coffee for around £7—seemed like a great option for a light start to the day.
Overall, a lovely café and a great quick pit stop before exploring the beautiful historic town of Canterbury. Would definitely recommend! ☕

Nice little coffee & pastry shop. Bacon quiche was really nice. My partner ordered german sausage baguette – bread was really good but sausage & filling can be better. Fruit pie was fresh. Coffee & hot choc were standard. Staffs were friendly and place is cozy.

Baguette itself was soft and crunchy, but the filling is tiny for the 6.95 price… I expected more than a thin slit on the bread and a single layer of meat and lettuce, and the mayonnaise was too sweet and greasy and was really overpowering, even with the smoked duck. Definitely go and order from the counter than from the menu, for better decisions and more interesting surprises. In the last minute I got a Kentish honey cake to go instead of French pastries. Creamy, not too sweet, and tasted like layered cheese cake, though I’m wondering what makes it Kentish..
The cappuccino was watery, reminding me of the self-service coffee machine at budget hotels.
The staff are friendly and helpful (thanks for accommodating my half to go half for here request). The space does feel like a French enclave at the heart of a Roman British town. We took some rest here in the afternoon sunshine before boarding the train as the Good Shed is closed on Monday.
Hope one day the food can catch up with the lovely place.
