If you are looking for some down home breakfast, this is your place. Delicious waffles, pancakes, omelets and more. We ate here on our way through KC and highly recommend it to anyone traveling through. Plenty of locals here and it definitely has a family vibe inside.

I’d recommend this place for a great breakfast! Huge three egg omelettes, awesomely filling breakfast burritos, and if you like grits, they serve them up perfectly! Plenty of room for dining alone in peace, or for parties of many.

The food was bland and over priced. I ordered the country fried steak because there’s a big sign that said Friday special on country fried steak but no price I asked the waitress what the price was and she said rudely 14.75 and walked away I was confused because the menu said 14.95 and I went to ask another waitress because I wasn’t sure if that was the special or the waitress messed up being rude and rushing so she heard me ask the other waitress said what’s the problem I told her I saw the sign and thought there was a special her response was that I was rude and it’s a mom and pop shop. I was just curious because when you see special on a big sign you expect a little more than a 20 cent discount.

First-time patrons this morning, and we were very satisfied with everything. Our Friendly server, Delores was quick to answer questions and take care of us. Started with their yummy coffee (Farmer Brothers) shared a slice of coconut cream pie (got into it before i thought to take a pic) it was tasty! Also had their biscuits and gravy (peppery, nice flavor on the gravy) country fried steak (good breading crispy and seasoned well) with eggs, breakfast potatoes, and bacon on the side. All of it was delicious and served hot. I look forward to revisiting and trying the other pies and menu items. (Update) We’ve visited several more times since this post. Rae’s Cafe has become a tradition for us. I met “Miss Philly” the nice woman that makes the delicious pies. The goal is to try all of her pies- so far we’ve had coconut cream (twice), chocolate, strawberry and peanut butter cheesecake.

My omelette was overcooked and hard as a rock. I have never been able to get good food here. I have been constantly disappointed so I won’t be back.

Gave this a try, and was so expensive for breakfast, $50 for 2, I think they brought their Johnson County prices with them

I am a reviews person, I got breakfast from here today due to the 4 1/2 starts rating they have. I ordered biscuits and gravy, with a side of bacon and sausage along with one slice of French Toast. To be very bluntly honest, the biscuits and gravy were not great, barely any season or sausage and the sausage in it was gross but the biscuits were sooo soft and a great touch to the meal. The bacon, sausage and French toast were honestly the best part of my meal but the sausage could of been browned a little more. French Toast was sooo soft as well & made from actual brioche bread❤️ I will be back for that but definitely not the biscuits and gravy!!!

I just had some of the best biscuits and gravy that I’ve ever had! And the coffee was good too. The wait staff is fast, friendly, and attentive. It’s a very clean place with a warm and inviting atmosphere. (and I never ran out of coffee either!)

I’ve been to this restaurant once before and had horrid service, but I thought I’d go give it another try. First of all, I saw residue of what looked like a roach that somebody stomped and did not fully clean on the floor. The staff was horribly rude, and I even heard them making fun of the customers around me. This maybe could have been ignored if the food was good, but even that was subpar. I have never had such a poor dining experience and I would NEVER recommend coming here.

I thought the atmosphere and eating experience were poor… Atmosphere was like an old place that really was not planned out with random table locations. Food was not great. The menu items are ordinary items that I can get at home for much less. I was dossappointed. Service was good and fairly fast.
