Tried out a lot of things and only a couple of times were edible, rest all was just below average. Not something I would like to try again in a place where there are endless options/ restaurants to try.
Tried chole bhature: average, dahi vada: dry without curd- below average , makke ki roti with saag- roti was uncooked, vada pav was good and saag was tasteless, bhakari was good and lastly thali – looked and tasted like canteen thali. If you want below average non tasty food – go there . If you are someone who has to eat outside food daily and can’t eat any other cuisine – this place might work as it’s low on cost and kinda home cooked but if you are looking at restaurant style/tasty food- this place is a big NO
The service could definitely use a little improvement. The dishes and spoons weren’t very clean, and the servers/waiters didn’t seem very engaged.
We decided to request a refund and walk out after that, but they managed to get our food within a few minutes of telling them.
After we got home, we open the boxes and it looks like they only made one plate of Sabudhana Kichdi and put it in two boxes. The quantity was unequal in both boxes and did not look like two portions but rather one portion split in two.
Very disappointing, and discouraging. Customer service and accountability was lacking.
Their thali is great!
Hara bara paratha, aloo paratha were good and tasted like home made. One will be greatly sufficient.
Best of all, their complimentary chai tasted 10x better than apna bazaar’s .
What it lacks there, it more than makes up with the choice of food and the quality. The bhel was very good, but the quantity was enough for an entire lunch portion! The sabudana wada was good, but not great. The spices could have been better. The spinach paneer paratha was on the dry side and a little bland for me. The yogurt on the side felt weak and runny. Nothing like the agra style paratha I expected. Still it was a hearty meal and made fun with the unlimited chai.
I ordered the Gujarati thali with chaas but was a bit disappointed. The dish was bland, and they forgot to serve the chaas. The restaurant was very loud and crowded, and the service felt slow. They could probably benefit from quicker table turnovers.
The menu is in English but doesn’t include pictures, which could make it challenging for non-Indian customers who might not be familiar with some of the dishes. However, they do offer free chai, and the chaat dishes looked amazing! I’m planning to give it another try and explore more of the menu since I think they have a lot of potential but are just falling a bit short right now.
