We were on holiday and we felt for some Indian food , this is always tricky when traveling because you never know what you’re gonna find.

Nevertheless we gave Raasoie a chance after reading a few good reviews.

The restaurant was very quiet and that made us feel a little nervous but we got showed to our table by our very pleasant waiter. We then proceed to go through the mouthwatering menu, our drinks arrived and then we ordered our meals.

For drinks we ordered the Falooda, and mango lassi

We really didn’t know what to expect but our food arrived! It looked and smelled delicious! The reviews were spot on.

Our food was so good! Everything we ordered was prepared to perfection. Craving satisfied!

For mains we ordered half tandoori chicken, chicken Tikka masala curry, lamb rogan josh, jeera aloo and roti ki tokri (which is just 3 different kinds of naan).

If you’re in the area, give them a try!

From the moment you enter, you’re greeted by a warm and kind hostess.

Drinks and starters are amazing so be sure not to fill up – the mains were sensational.

One of the best Indian restaurant and food I’ve ever tried! (and I’m from Durban)

1000% would recommend!

Firstly, and I strongly recommend that the owner takes this seriously, there is no clear sign on the outside to indicate and advertise the restaurant. We were shown our table and leftovers for more than ten minutes before someone came for the order. On requesting a wine list a few flimsy pieces for given to us. Again we had to wait before we taking our wine and meal order. The food was excellent and just enough. Again another ten minutes wait after our table was cleared for the bill. Will I go again? Possibly! Service qas friendly with only three tables occupied we would have expected a higher degree of attention

Who would have thought the best curry is right on my doorstep, only 125km from where I live. Every km was worth it. I have been searching endlessly the last 8 years to find curry that matches the authentic flavoursome curry I had in Zambia, at an Authentic family owned Indian restaurant. Raasoie is a gastronomic treat! Perfectly balanced authentic cuisine. It took me on a journey far away, and well needed getaway indeed. Highly recommended. The owner and staff are very welcoming, friendly, attentive and you feel very special from the moment you arrive up until your goodbye. Do not miss this one. Take a trip with your tastebuds. Raasoie! The kitchen of india!

A great place to try Indian Cuisines . Located in the heart of Walmer, this place is a vegetarian’s dream come true, founded by a couple from Mumbai who literally built it to satisfy their own craving for authentic, high-quality veg food.
Whether you’re a strict vegetarian or just looking for a meat-free night, Raasoie is a gastronomic treat. The portions are massive, the prices are very reasonable (averaging R100–R200 for a main), and the service makes you feel like family.

I Would have added photos but was in a hurry. Next time for sure.

Ciao

This is the best curry restaurant, I absolutely love and enjoy their lamb vindaloo if you are into hot and spicy meals! Pair it up with butter naan . Oh and the prawn biryani is out of this world too!

From the moment we walked in, to the last minute we left, was PURE magic. The food was absolutely divine The wonderfully fried samoosa starter, the one of a kind chicken kadai AND that top tier prawn curry! Just when you think it can’t get any better.. try those delicious milk balls in that heavenly syrup! We even had the waitress asking the chef what the dipping sauce for the samoosas was! Coming to the service.. WOW! If I could give 6 stars I absolutely would! The staff really went above and beyond! They were swift, kind and so so friendly! The atmosphere was perfect. From the waitressing staff to the chef to the management, thank you! We will definitely be back! ❤️ Raas-OOOOO-ei!!!!

Food had lived up to my expectations. The curry portions aren’t big but it works out perfect with the ratio to the roti/rice or naan, very filling. Curry does not come with roti/rice or naan. Those are required to be ordered as sides. The menu items are relatively well priced in comparison to other Indian restaurants in PE and/or those situated alongside Walmer main road. Many items on the menu are not in stock which is why the restaurant is rated 4/5. Had to change my order 2-3 times due to the limited stock they had. Their vegetarian portions are much bigger in quantity so I would definitely recommend people to place orders for vegetarian curries. Nice seating outdoors at the back with good air flow but protection from PE’s wind. The restaurant inside feels claustrophobic.

Food is good but don’t order the tandoori chicken. R80 for 5 tiny pieces of overcooked meat??!!

The five star rating is for the food. You get a good selection of dishes at very reasonable prices. They have interesting starters (we had the onion bahji which was enough for two). Their dishes are well spiced but not hot (I’m not great with spicy food so it’s something I liked). Corkage is R30 (March 2019). The restaurant has a view of the ocean with the option of sitting inside or outside. If warm enough the outside area will give the best view. Service though very polite was rather slow, so probably don’t go here when in a hurry.
