We were traveling from out of town & detoured to try R & S. The owner made us feel right at home. He offers phenomenal quality food that is fresh with really great menu options. I wish this restaurant was closer to home because we would be coming back every week. We could not recommend this place enough! Stop by, you won’t regret it!

Visited the location in Dorchester Center. The food was bomb! Miss Shernet made us feel so welcome. Her and my mom are both from the Bay and it was so good to speak with her. The oxtail was slamming. I wish I had a picture of the plate before I ate it, haha. Didn’t even think to stop. Please go give her your love and try their sorrel!

Very few times in this day and age are we met with such high level of hospitality like the kind R & S restaurant offers. Shernett, one of the owners of this new location, left a refreshing impression that pairs wonderfully with how delicious the food tastes! The ginger pineapple and papaya mango beverages were beyond delicious. Come in and eat by the counter, or take it to go!

I absolutely love the food. I’ve seen people complain about the price, it’s not cheap cheap but it doesn’t break the bank and I’ve never finished my plate in 1 sitting. Every time I walk in I’m greeted warmly and there are usually other customers talking and laughing. Everybody is super nice and helpful, offering suggestions and help with dishes I’m unfamiliar with. The oxtail and curry goat are my favorite dishes and the pineapple upside down cake is my favorite dessert. Don’t forget to grab a patty on the way out for the ride home

Stopped by with my boyfriend real quick for the first time! Shernett is so kind and friendly. She offered a free mango & passionate juice and it is so delicious! Also ordered 2 side of Jerk Mac & cheese, and 2 dumplings. 10/10. Would recommend! Thank you!

I saw this place pop up and I knew I had to try it. The food is real deal and so is the guy running it. It’s a real piece of Jamaica right here. Walk good, bredren.

The absolute best oxtail plate around the flavor of the sauce. The tenderness and size of the oxtail is unmatched in this area. I’ve tried the places in Brockton and surrounding areas in nowhere touches this one absolutely delicious. keep in mind that oxtail is not cheap so the plate is expensive but if you want something other than the ordinary, this is the plate to go for and this is the place to go for it

R & S Jamaican Restaurant has been calling my name every time I passed by, and I finally gave in. The bright green and yellow exterior with bold lettering feels like a warm invitation straight from the heart of Jamaica. You can’t miss it—vibrant signs boast classics like curry goat, jerk chicken, and tropical juices.
Inside, it’s cozy and unpretentious. A fridge stocked with colorful sodas lines one wall, and the counter area is decorated with handwritten signs that give the place a personal touch. Bob Marley smiles down from the wall, and the ‘No Problem Jamaica’ sign sets the vibe—relaxed and easygoing.
I went for the steak, which turned out to be more of a beef stew. While it didn’t quite hit the mark compared to some other Jamaican food I’ve had in Boston, it was still hearty and flavorful. Prices felt a little steep, but let’s be honest—everything seems expensive these days when it comes to takeout.
What really stood out was the man running the show. He wore both the cook and server hats, and yet he was still all smiles, genuinely helpful, and just downright simpático. That level of hospitality is something you can’t fake, and it made the experience feel special.
If you’re in the mood for some island flavors and a friendly face, R & S Jamaican Restaurant is worth a visit. Just come hungry, be ready for a laid-back vibe, and don’t skip the tropical juice. 4 stars!

I absolutely love this place. I’m rarely in the area but when I am, I always stop by and get a combo plate. Portions match the prices. Man behind it all is very friendly and always remembers me !
