Great neighbor restaurant with a laid-back vibes, friendly staff, great crafted cocktails and appointed menu: Met server Fig and bartender Jazz, both down to earth people, gave great suggestions. Try ths Purple Rain cocktail and Caramel Delight shot, both very delicious! Will be back soon.

R Public House really came through with their Pancakes of the Week. They were big, fluffy, and honestly just so good. They came with strawberry coulis, a big scoop of ice cream, and fresh peaches on top — simple, but already fire.

Of course, I had to put a little razzle-dazzle on it. I added two layers of mixed berry jam with the strawberry coulis, then put apricot jam on the top layer. I made a warm homemade syrup with butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and regular syrup, and poured it right over the stack. Perfect.

The crazy part is I could’ve eaten the pancakes exactly as they came and still raved about them. If I had whipped cream, I probably would’ve ordered another one for later.

If you’re in Rogers Park, definitely try these pancakes. They’re worth it.

French onion soup is out of this world! All of the food is amazing, but I haven’t had French onion soup like that in my life! Also obsessed with their spicy Dijon sauce with tenders and fries

I recently moved back to Rogers Park. My friend lives down the street from R Public House so I suggested we meet there for dinner and drinks. I am so glad we did! The food was delicious, the server was a seasoned pro and the drinks were drank! We were invited to return to a Golden Girls Trivia night. We went! We had a blast! Again, great food! Great service! Great drinks! I wonder if they have a Drag Brunch on Sundaze?!?

I live in Edgewater and had never heard of this place before some friends invited me for brunch this past Sunday (Feb 15). This place is fantastic! I was super impressed with the menu and wanted to try everything – I settled for a special they were offering which was an Italian Beef omelette. It came with some breakfast potatoes – my dish was a substantial portion that was tasty, decadent with the cheese and very filling. Our server was also gracious and friendly and took great care of us.

Going to R Public House was a treat and I can’t wait to go back!

Great atmosphere, very festive. The server was so nice and helpful with suggestions for our meal. She kept checking in on us throughout the night to make sure we had everything we needed.

The fried pickles with their dipping sauce were a fun surprise, really good.

Also, I enjoyed the Burrata pizza. Although it tastes great on it’s own it could have used a balsamic glaze to sweeten it a bit. My friend opted for the Kimchi fries (slightly spicy) and the fruit pizza. It looked like a healthy summer salad, covered in feta and fruit, and was told it was pretty good.

Parking was a bit of a struggle. We found street parking behind the location in a residential street.

Great local spot to check out.

My friend and I lived in the neighborhood and were regulars until he moved out of state and I moved out of Rogers Park. He flew in for the weekend and we planned to meet a group of friends to catch up and hang out. I went to the bar to order a drink and the bartender told me I had to order from the server at the table. I sat down and waited for a while without a cocktail. I finally got her attention and she said I already brought your drink. Apparently the bartender had already made it and she just dropped it off without saying anything. (There were lots of people and lots of drinks on the table. I had no idea it was mine.) I apologized and took a sip but the drink wasn’t what I ordered. I took it back to the bar and he acknowledged he made the wrong drink. After 20 minutes I finally had a cocktail. Service was slow the rest of the night, and the server and the bartender were a bit dismissive and rude. I found out later that the former owner had sold the business to on of the servers. Good to know. Things ran a lot more smoothly when Renee had the place. Sadly, we won’t be back.

My daughter and I went here for her 21st birthday today. We had been here before and the food and staff were so amazing, this is the first place she wanted to go on her special day. When they found out it was her 21st, they did her UP! They treated her like a queen and the staff and other patrons bought her drinks and food the entire time we were there. We cannot recommend this place enough for the food, customer service, and atmosphere. Please come support this local business, and experience for yourselves the amazing time we had. 5 stars R Public House!!!

A gem in the neighborhood! Amazing burgers and a wide array of awesome drinks. Lots of monthly events and the staff are super attentive. Bacon wrapped dates and fig burger are my top faves. Tried the margarita flight for the first recently and fell in love.

I ate an early lunch, so it was really quiet. The food was fantastic. Bacon Wrapped dates are tasty and had a sauce that really complemented the dish. The Chicken Lady Pizza was excellent. Caramelized onions definitely gave the flavor a pop. It was too early for me to drink, but I was impressed by their bar selection (especially Irish whiskey).
