Found this place on tiktok and decided to give it a try. One of my favorites now! I tried the Chilaquiles Divorciados, the Birriaquiles, Banana Nutella Crepes and French toast. All so so good! Oh and the Cafe de Olla is DELICIOUS. ☺️ definitely recommend! Overall great food and atmosphere.

Food is good, they don’t skimp on the portions. I had the biscuits and gravy. They were good. Bacon was cooked just right for me which is slightly on the crisp side. I enjoyed everything but the sausage. It was OK, I’m just used to more traditional breakfast sausage. The place is very clean.

First time here and I plan on returning. The food was amazing and service was too. Liz did a very great job and was very nice. Traditional Mexican food like my mom used to make it. Family oriented for sure!

My overall grade for R and K Brunch Restaurant is: C+

We’ve lived locally for just about a year now, and this place used to be Betty’s Diner – which we frequented and are sad is gone. I saw the great reviews online and we were eager to try the Mexican brunch dishes – so we deviated from our usual, just order classics and if the place gets that done great, we come back for more ‘exotic’ choices. Today we went all in – we ordered the Mexican coffee – if you’re a fan of sweet coffee with a hint of cinnamon, this is for you. For me, just too sweet – but my mom liked it.

Service: SUPER SLOW – but it’s not really the restaurant’s fault, when we showed up on a Sunday at 9:45 AM, there was only 1 server working. By the time we were almost done – there were 2 servers, but service was very, very slow. Sat at our table for maybe 15 minutes before we could get a cup of coffee. At breakfast restaurants, we’re used to getting coffee immediately or at least being offered coffee as we sit. Again, not their fault, they just seemed to need at least one more server working. We did see an entire table of customers who seemingly got frustrated with the wait to see a server, that they just left the place without saying anything.

For meals: Poblano omelette, the birria-quiles and the (I cannot remember the name) but some fried quesadillas with chicharron and chorizo in them – sounded fantastic.

While I have to give this place kudos for an innovative menu, the ingredient combinations were very interesting, all in all, every dish we ordered (yes, I tried them all) were under-seasoned. Which is unusual for a Mexican flavor slanted restaurant.

The birra-quiles were not only under-seasoned, but the chips were “cold”. Almost sent those back.

The poblano omelette was over-done – you know how omelettes should be the color of scrambled eggs? These had that orange crispy edges all over – indicating they left it on the fire too long.

My fried quesadilla things, tasted “doughy” and the flavors of the filling did not make it through over the dough.

We did vow to come back after a month or two, given that this place is probably going through some growing pains and start-up lessons learned. We will come back to order the classics and hopefully, I can leave a much better review.

Until then, it’s a decent place to go, but be careful if the place is full and you only see 1 or 2 servers – prepare for a longer experience. The server was very nice though.
