Stopped by here on a weekend getaway to see the leaves change. Know that they have a daily special and that’s all in case you’re expecting a larger menu. We decided to order the Mac and cheese side to split before our meal and it was by far the absolute worst we have had in our lives. No flavor, just a glob of goo. We left it and hardly touched it because trust me- it’s not worth the calories. The prime rib itself was OK and the baked potato was actually great. However, the worker in blue leggings was our server and was cussing like a sailor throughout the restaurant our whole time there. At one point we could hear her on the other side of the restaurant complaining about her coworkers. Because her attitude the whole time, the atmosphere wasn’t good.

We have eaten at many of the other Quincy’s. We were staying in Salida on our way to Ouray. Buena Vista was the closest Quincy’s steak. I can honestly say, this was the best filet mignon! It was the most tender and flavorful filet that I have had. Heather, our waitresses was excellent! We never lacked and she was an excellent guide on near by city attractions.

Alyssa was our server and was outstanding. Very attentive and fun to chat with. The food was so so so good. I got the Salisbury steak special which was outstanding. The other 3 in our party got the prime rib, and cleaned their plates! We can’t wait to come back. Highly highly recommend!

After reading the review of the screaming in the kitchen a few weeks prior, we were rather hesitant to enter, but couldn’t find another restaurant for our evening meal that was more than sandwiches or burgers. We were told upon entry only Prime Rib was being served on this Friday night, or the few specials on the board. We didn’t really want the prime rib, but one of the specials looked good, so we were seated. Don’t you know, the special, we were interested in was not available after all. So we went with the prime rib and ordered it medium well. It looked pretty pink, but it was cooked enough to be edible. The baked potato was great. The mac and cheese was pretty good. The margarita was way too sweet with triple sec, I guess. We barely drank that. The waitress was very attentive at first then pretty much left us alone until we were totally done eating. So we couldn’t ask her to take the meat back to cook it longer. The help wanted sign in the window was there for a reason, I suppose. Meaning they were understaffed and the waitresses were all very busy. In all, not a place we’d revisit if ever in the area again.

That was not like any filet I’ve ever ate! Very chewy, weird taste…. great atmosphere, friendly waitress, hostess- not so much. We fully expected to have the best steak ever, since they have a limited menu…. salad & baked potato was great. No wonder the price was low…

Nice dark and quiet steak joint. Limited menu but nice options. They were short on staff but communicated well. I would go back

I’ve been a fan of Quincy’s ever since my first meal in Leadville years ago, so I was thrilled to discover they also have a location in Buena Vista. Quincy’s is all about beef, and they do it exceptionally well. Whether it’s a perfectly cooked filet or a flavorful ribeye, the meat is consistently tender, tasty, and lean enough without losing richness.

They offer cuts in different sizes, so whether you’ve got a big appetite or prefer something lighter, there’s an option that fits. The baked potato, loaded with butter and sour cream, is simply heavenly. Add in a crisp, fresh salad and a slice of bread to soak it all up, and you’ve got a meal that’s both simple and outstanding.

Prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. Honestly, if Quincy’s were right next to my home, I’d probably eat there every night.

I took my family here last night and thought it would be just as good as the Leadville location. However, the Buena Vista location is not on par. We all ordered prime rib and much of it came out overcooked and not cooked to order. Some of the prime rib was cold! They couldn’t even heat it up correctly. You would think that if the only thing you’re serving is prime rib it would be fresh, but that is not the case here Quincy’s must be experiencing its death nell because the owner and chef wouldn’t even come out and own up to the fact that she served us dog food. Then when we complained about the food, we were only given a measly 20% off the bill. The servers are run ragged and there’s not enough people to service the restaurant. There was a piece of hair in my salad. The baked potatoes had been cooked days ago and came out brown on the inside.

Wonderful atmosphere! Great food! We were there on Christmas eve and our server, Shelby, was a great example of their amazing service! Don’t be fooled by the limited menu, these dishes are their specialties and it’s always worth the drive
