I ordered take out, and the short time my food was on my passenger seat the smell was taunting me. As soon as I got home I dug into my meal, and not a single bite disappointed. Spicy, but flavorful. Savory and bright. Can’t wait to try everything on the menu.

One of my favorite new places for when I come to Portland. Amazing taste, variety of options and a friendly and chill atmosphere.
The 3 for $12 empanadas are a great place to start!

Quiero Cafe is a welcomed Latin inspired restaurant in the heart of Portland. Stopped in with my partner for lunch and ordered right away. It’s super cute on the inside, very clean, and easy to find a table after ordering for two. We got the two veg options for empanadas, tostones, yucca fries, and rice and beans. Everything was extremely flavorful and nicely presented. We had food to bring home as well, which was a bonus. I can’t wait to go back to Quiero Cafe and I highly recommend visiting if you live in Portland AND/OR are visiting. Thanks, Quiero Cafe!!

Excellent service and delicious food. Wonderful popular Latin music pumping in the background from various countries and a varied cuisine that seems to take a little bit from many places in central America. Highly recommended

We loved everything we got here! The yucca friea and arepa were delicious. I also had the fried empanadas, which had an excellent texture and flavor. My favorite was the cheese and plantain one. The limeades are great if you enjoy tart drinks, which i do. We will absolutely be stopping by again next time we’re in the area!

Best empanadas I’ve had in forever. Tonight my husband bought a few of every kind I think. Someone forgot to add the pico and just a bit down the road my husband heard someone chasing and calling after him, it was a staff member with the salsas. That’s pretty great service.
Thank you !! <3

Shared a lunch before a Maine Celtics game at the Expo. Easy walk and great food. Excellent service and perfect choice for the whole family. Empanadas were the consensus fave, but everything was fresh and yummy. Will definitely be back …

This is a no frills, order at the counter kind of place, which is fine. My adult son had a burrito that was a hefty portion, and he said it was good. I had a carne empanada and a chorizo empanada. We both had water to drink (not bottled), and the total was $30+.
I recognize it’s Portland, ME, but really? My empanadas were just okay, with crusts that were nothing to write home about. The carne one had no flavor, but the chorizo filling was tasty with some good spice.
Would I go again? The food wasn’t worth the price, so probably not.
