My dad used to bring me here when I was very little as a way to connect with our culture given that I was born and raised in the US. I go there now as much as I can and always feel a very warm welcome there. The food is not only delicious but soul enriching and really makes me feel connected to my culture. Not only will you get excellent quality food but you will get it at an absolute deal of a price enough.

Food is fresh and authentic. The corner store vibe is nice. They also do take out, so you can call and order and pick up food.

I ordered 5 combination Plates for my family on a Sunday afternoon. When I arrived at the store / restaurant it was quite empty. My son had pointed out he saw a beetle . I didn’t believe him and all sudden we found a bug inside our tamale . So no I won’t be coming back and feeding my family this !!!!!!

We only went to the market since they had just opened and weren’t serving food yet. The market was small but had a lot of items, including Guatemalan pan tostadas like champurradas and pork or chicken tamales to take and warm up. Very good!

The place is really dirty, the service is careless and unprofessional. They do not care about the customer only the money you spend. The food took too long and its not well cooked. the products they imported are out of date and refudsed to let me change it for another product.

Don’t let the area or appearance deter you. Some of the best Guatemala food I’ve had not only in the state but period. If you want authentic an authentic, homemade meal this is the place.

Great food. Nice people. I showed up after the restaurant closed. I asked them what time it closed they said 6. It was 7 so I asked if they sold carne asada and they said no. But the lady was so kind she made me dinner even though they where closed. Super nice. I will be back when I am in town

Always sweet people who greet you with a smile. Private orders for Guatemalan Tamales. They are on point! Not many out there serving food from my culture so I’m thankful for them

Unfortunately the food isn’t that good, I ordered some pupusas and they weren’t fresh and they were ok but not great. The restaurant looks old and dirty, boxes everywhere and it’s not a pleasant place, I still need to try the guatemalan food and see if that’s better than the pupusas.

This family run Bodega/Bistro is conveniently located in the downtown area of Salt Lake making it a walking or biking stop worth the experience. The TRAX and Front Runner transit station is approximately 3 blocks south-east. Otherwise, North Temple drops you onto 6th West just 5 blocks North of the Gateway Mall area.

If you’re looking for an upscale dig with average food and high prices–this isn’t the place. Here, it’s really about the food and the Latin slow eating ambiance.

On the Bistro side of things, the fare is unbeatable in price, authenticity and taste. Don’t let the humble building or location fool you. Adding to the flair, its West wall features a mural created by Riby, a renowned local artist. Its the semi-westside ocation adding to the ambiance of an old-school LA mom-n-pop eatery where substance never goes out of style.

For the locals, the small Bodega (mini mart) offers Latin products like horchata, ristras, ciconut and peanut candies, as well fresh produce, canned goods, tortas and a small butcher shop.

Take time to have a bite. I have many times…
