Unassuming grill for down-home cooking of American classics in a shopping-center locale.

One of my favorite spots on the island. I almost shed tears of joy the first time I tried the firecracker chicken. Cash or Venmo only so keep that in mind. Show love to this family run spot.

Don’t fall for social media hype about this place. As a tourist with limited time in town, Drove 40 mins to try this place, arrived early at 10:05 with people walking in and out of front door thinking they were open early. Walked in and was told not open yet to wait outside until 10:30. Waited around till 10:30 to walk back in per their hours on social media story and google business hours. Asked the guy plating food if they’re open he said “yes be with you in a moment”. While a lady is taking a phone order in the back. Another lady walks up and says “oh no we’re not open until 11 am we’re not ready yet food will also take at least 45 mins to an hour to come out”. I even brought up to her attention that I was told 10:30 to come back to order literally while the lady is taking phone orders and dude is plating food for orders lol. Don’t understand why you wouldn’t have things prepped before hand to be ready to go right at opening knowing you have people to serve.
You would think this place would be better organized and staff would be on the same page. Crossing this one off list and won’t be back. Thanks for the first impression.

This place is fantastic. I ordered the firecracker chicken which was huge chunks of deep-fried dark meat, crispy and slightly spicy. Awesome flavor. The family also had the Kiawe smoked steak and the fried rice. Very tasty, huge portions, and reasonable pricing. The lady was very friendly as well. Highly recommend.

Great food!! I always get 1/2 steak and 1/2 firecracker chicken plate with mashed potatoes and green salad. I call ahead and order my food, then pick it up. You’ll get your food faster that way, or else it might be a 20-45 minute wait if you order in person. On this last visit, I saw 2 tables with 2 chairs per table outside. Normally, this place is not a sit-down restaurant.

Best food on the island! The lady at the front was so sweet and accommodating while we decided on what to get. We ended up ordering the Firecracker chicken which comes with a chipotle mayo sauce and the garlic chicken with a side of macaroni salad and white rice. You also have the choice to get brown rice, mashed potatoes but they were out or a pasta salad. My husband got half of the spicy garlic shrimp and half regular and both were delicious! For the price of $12 a plate you can’t beat this place. Good quality food at great prices and really big portions too so feel free to share a plate if you’re not too hungry. Love, love, love!

The food was tasty, only con was I asked for spicy shrimp with my meal and it taste like it was sweet/spicy (I wasn’t looking for the sweet part). Other than that my meal was good and I will most definitely be returning. The staff was also very pleasant and welcoming.
Con(s): parking and they don’t have any seating to enjoy your delicious meal.

Wow, the amount of food for the price is way above expectations.
After looking at reviews we decided to place a order by phone. At luch it took exactly 25 minutes as the very nice employee advised over the phone. When you arrive only one person enters at a time and employees were wearing masks. Was given a friendly greeting when arriving. The place is very basic inside, no frills.
The food they gave me was very heavy, we were expecting small bento boxes for the price. Everything came to $51 for three complete meals including steak, ahi, shrimp and chicken katsu. The steak was really good, husband liked the tempura shrimp. Teenager got the largest combination plate and has barely spoken a word to us while eating.
100% worth the trip to visit what seems like a locally owned family business.

SO FRICKING GOOD. This was the best Hawaiian food I’ve had on the whole island. Super authentic, the aunties in there are super nice. Their servings are HUGE, enough for 2-3 hungry people. We got the garlic shrimp and the firecracker chicken with rice and mac salad — it was amazing and flavorful.
About a 30 min wait for food and parking is free in the center. take out only.

Been meaning to try this place for the longest time, but I’m hardly ever in this area during lunch. Finally had the chance and took it. Our timing was good because it got crowded fast. We were luckily able to get a seat (one of the 3 tables inside) and watch as the line consistently formed out the door.
We got the Firecracker Chicken & Poke combo, and the Noodle & Kiawe Grilled Teriyaki Chicken combo. They actually set up a grill outside their restaurant to grill all their Kiawe Grilled meats. I like that you can add Poke to any of the dishes on their menu.
Food was just ok. Was hoping for it to wow me a little more. The lines must mean there is something to it though so we’ll be back again. I’m hoping if we try other items on the menu, we’ll get more wow.

I’ve been to so many plate lunch spots around Oahu over the years and I don’t even live here! Though I wish I did. Queen is definitely one of the better ones. I wish it had a bit more flavor to it. I’d definitely come back.
