It’s an older (almost hole in wall) type restaurant

I think it totally depends on what you order some things are solid (4 stars) and others are a bit lower

For example, I had kung pao, 3.5 before. Most of the dishes are 3-4 stars. Mongolian beef 3.5
Pork chop bento 3.75 stars

Today 10/2/25
We had beef stew and tendon 3.75 stars
The meat was really good but the broth, to me was ok. I have eaten at other Taiwanese beef noodle places. I just think their broth is better. It is very authentic but the flavor profile is not as tasty to me as other places

The general chicken was good solid 4 stars

Haven’t had dim sum or weekend specials

Small place not too many tables 10 inside and 9 small two seaters patio outside

My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag of flavors. The scallion pancake was decent, but the crust was a tad too thick for my liking. Similarly, the pineapple deep-fried shrimp was alright, but the thick crust left me tasting more flour than shrimp. However, the standout dish was undeniably the braised beef noodle. It was simply amazing—tasty, rich, and the noodles were just perfect. If you’re a noodle lover like me, you’ll definitely want to try it out! Overall, while there were some hits and misses, the braised beef noodle made the visit worthwhile.

Delicious brunch spot! Very light on the stomach and so flavorful. Loved the scallion pancake.

A Taiwanese restaurant that serves more than bentos. It’s our go to in the peninsula (yes sadly, the whole peninsula) for Taiwanese food as I find the flavors authentic. The pork belly bao and minced pork over rice dishes are spot on. Though it can be a little overwhelming given the size of the menu, I like picking my own dishes so we get some variety, rather than going with the 3 dish combo meal which can be very heavy (lots of fried food).

It’s a very casual place that’s kid friendly and it’s nice to walk around on Castro after a meal.

I was really looking forward to a nice down to earth, mom and pop store food place for Chinese food for my favorite vegetarian dish with garlic sauce. But I was very disappointed there were barely any vegetables in the sauce was terrible and the vegetables were not fresh and wilted. It was just cabbage carrots broccoli onion. The sauce tasted like it was to preserved as well and not fresh. I kind of assume that everything on Castro Street would be amazing because I imagine that the rent would be high enough for people to self select out if they didn’t have a good food. I am a vegetarian for the most part, so I cannot speak for the meat lovers, but for the vegetarian food that I bought, I really did not enjoy it at all. The other pic here is the meat dish and I heard it was good but it looked very fatty. But the staff were really nice and they open late. BART will get you here on the Mountain view station easily. It is walkable from the train station for only about under five blocks.

Cheap and good Chinese food. Big portions. Went to Queen house with 3 other friends. We got pork fried rice, wanton soup, dumplings, shezhuan beef, and tofu clay pot. Dumplings were really good. We all liked our dishes. Staff was only attentive at the beginning. Once they took our order, they didn’t really come back to check in on us. We had to go in and ask for water, our bill, and to-go boxes. Service can be better.

Taiwanese stir fried noodles were yummy but wonton noodle soup basically tasted like water… I’ll give this place another try but will definitely ask what their most popular dishes are before ordering. The menu was massive.

7/6/2023 – we went here for early dinner. We had fish with black bean, beef with string beans and braised tofu. The beef was super tough. The fish dish had so little fish 3& half pieces in the whole plate. It was really onions with fish . The braised tofu was ok. I normally don’t like my food be drenched in sauce so I requested little sauce. Still there was too much sauce in my fish dish. Service was definitely lacking. We were the only customers at the time, but they never came back to ask if everything was ok, or perhaps we needed more fish in our dish . Other than this the place was clean.

Queen house has been my go to place for some taiwanese food in Mt view in the past 20+ years. The spicy beef noodles never disappoint. Great deal on the 3 dish set too. Also you get a discount from Tea era next door since it’s the same family businesses.
