We went in for dinner the other night and were waiting to be seated, all we got was the bar tender throwing us the peace sign. We stood there for a good 5min waiting until we finally went up ourselves and asked for a menu. Their new menu consists of total junk and no real food! The entire atmosphere has completely changed under the new owners. There was no heat in the place, dingy lighting and the whole place looked filthy. Yacht Club use to be a GREAT place to eat with a great atmosphere where I use to often take business clients for dinner but the new owners fired all the old staff that were truly great and hired some dirty unfriendly hippie for a bar tender who didnt even bother saying hello but rather threw us the peace sign as if we were supposed to know what he even meant by that. Its really quite SAD to see how quickly the Yacht Club went right into the gutter. If the new owners don’t return to their roots and bring in REAL Restaurant staff, REAL bar tenders and put together a REAL Menu and I mean quick that place is destined to FAIL.
The Yacht Club use to be packed on a Friday night with live music, there wasn’t even music playing and only about 30 customers. It had a truly depressing atmosphere, it was cold with no heat, no lighting, no music, no food and no staff. If you want to go to a total depressing dive bar to feel even more depressed this is the place for you but you’d be better off buying a bottle and having some friends over for a cook out but if you are a business person who wants a nice place to take clients or go out with friends for food and drinks THIS ISNT THE PLACE FOR YOU.
Hopefully Yacht Club returns to its roots or I don’t see them lasting a second season before closing their doors for good. We were honestly appalled at the service, atmosphere and lack of any real food items on the menu so after standing at the door waiting for a good 5min and not being served and then having to go chase someone down and then seeing there wasn’t anything on the menu besides chips and canned dip we left and went else ware.
I heard that it reopened and I read the reviews. One stood out in my mind with this person talking about poor food quality, canned cheese and Dollar Store chips. I thought no way, just some disgruntled dude acting out.
Well, this guy was spot on, I used to help at PopWarner concessions for the kids. The nachos were definitely made with cheap, stale Doritos rounds and the five pound cans of whatever is used in the fake liquid and nasty yellow stuff that is supposed to be cheese.
At least at Pop Warner, we used fresh chips, but only charged $3.50, not the $14.00 for the mess they handed out.
Yes, the place seemed quite dirty and very loud. Since the wait staff seemed somewhat pleasant, I gave two stars instead of the well deserved one.
My advice, try finding a decent cook/chef, don’t buy your products from Dollar Store, close out canned good markets and think about using fresh ingredients.
Sorry, but trying to be honest and hopeful, I hate to see shuttered businesses.
The place looked great and we had two drinks that were well poured but the topper was the pork natchos, Assume, first time we have ever had them and they were suggested by the waitress as her cook had taken a day off and she made them! More then we could eat and finished them off later in the day.
Will definitely have them again! Good food and service!
