In the pictures: bowl with brown rice, Cholula chicken, black beans, guacamole (don’t call it “guac”), cheese. Only cheese qusadilla. Mandarine flavor Jarrito soda made with real sugarcane sugar (imported from Mexico, the best!
The person serving us wasn’t very friendly, and they didn’t ask whether we were dining in or taking the food to go — it was just packed up and handed to us assuming it was to-go.
Decent food, but cleanliness and customer service definitely need improvement.
Food had no taste the chicken was extremely rubbery and was not even room temperature. Both of us just threw away 40 dollars of food that essentially couldn’t be eaten.
We used to frequent the Richmond location at least once a week but based on the few last experiences we won’t be back.
Positives: they spoke English, the food was edible.
Negatives: *I couldn’t have shrimp on my quesidilla because “then we would have to clean the press” *my $14, barely seasoned quesadilla was stuck to the cardboard box it was served in. *floor and every table was dirty. *no sugar in the sweet tea. *I had to wipe the toilet seat off with the last scrap of toilet paper, asked for more, the young blonde went in to get some out of the locked cabinet, came out and I swear to this…left “female red” smeared on the seat! . And the sink was dry as a bone, she didn’t wash her hands before going back to serve food…. NEVER AGAIN
Then I get to the line, and the girl doing the toppings looked absolutely done with life. No smile, no eye contact, no nothing. I swear she moved the spoon like it weighed 40 pounds. I’m just standing there like, “Ma’am… blink twice if you’re being held hostage.” The energy was not it.
And the portions? Man… I’m still mad about that. How did I spend $25 and walk out with a bowl that looked like it was made by someone who hates me personally? She put so little chicken on there I thought she was rationing for the apocalypse. I literally had to tilt the bowl just to see if there was more hiding under the rice.
By the time I sat down, I was already regretting every decision that led me to this moment. Small portions + zero customer service + everyone acting like I’m inconveniencing them just by showing up? Yeah… never again.
I got a mini chicken bowl with white rice and pinto beans. It all tasted bland and the chicken tasted old. I probably won’t be back. We don’t go there normally and this is why.
