The miso soup was delicious as was the hot and sour soup. The Szechuan shrimp lunch bowl was a great portion and very flavorful. The general tso chicken meal was also very flavorful. We also got a Philadelphia roll and it tasted fresh. Will definitely be going back.
However the food here is focused on bowls, not your standard Chinese Food Fare we are used to The food is good, but slightly disappointing concerning choices and pairings. The fried rice is plain vegetable fried rice. No offering of pork or chicken fried rice.
Service is somewhat slow and they bring the food plates out one at a time; sometimes up to 8 -10 minutes between delivery of plates of food to others waiting for their food to eat at the table.
My daughter ordered the Dinner Box (chicken) and paid extra for broccoli to be added. Large pieces of juicy flavorful chicken with a great savory sauce, but shy on the broccoli.
I ordered the hibachi scallops and was met with a huge disappointment. The scallops were tough, somewhat rubbery, and difficult to chew. I’m not sure if they were overcooked, or if they were just punched out imitation scallops as the striations were horizontal, not vertical, and some were even angled. My fault for ordering scallops from an Asian restaraunt. I will visit again, but I will not be ordering any scallops again.
2nd & 3rd visits: I ordered General Tso’s Chicken Bowl, Chicken Teriyaki Bowl, and Fried Dumplings. All were good, I just have a hard time trying to understand the bowl concept, as I like my food items separated from each other.
Bottom line is that the food is good, nice portions, just probably a learning curve for the new restaraunt.
I think they could increase business if they offered a small veteran / military / senior discount. While it’s not necessary or required, people do support those businesses that show their appreciation to them.
His first call was at 1:28, I got my food at 1:30? He said he was outside for a long time? Tipped the max the app recommended to.
We highly recommend making the trip to eat here. The food is far superior to all other Chinese restaurants around. It’s worth the drive to Browns Mills.
