What a find! Authentic Spanish tapas, empanadas, and fritos, served with excellent Italian and Spanish wines, in a chic industrial atmosphere, topped off with friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable service. Purveyor is my new favorite place in Des Moines!
UPDATE: Second visit, maybe even better! New bartender Carlos is a gem – gave my Spanish vermouth glass a gin wash for an authentic feel, super knowledgeable on the wine selection. The menu is excellent, so many choices, you’ll never have the same small plate twice (unless you want to!). My only regret is that I don’t live close enough to be a regular here. Highly recommend!

We were next door and the locals suggested “that place next door “ for really good food. Locals know!

They were not kidding we had top three cold apps. See picture. The smoked salmon was amazing. All three absolutely delicious

We opted for the Purveyor sandwich, but we opted for focaccia bread, really outstanding, everything is ridiculously delicious and fresh. Outstanding. The waiter? Owner knows the menu inside and out, made very good suggestions, and very personable.

That little bit of heaven with the wonderful Daisy chain coffees the fun store that is attached to the daisy chain coffee, we spent much of our Sunday here.

This is a total hidden gem in Des Moines. We stumbled in late one night and were totally impressed by the high-quality bites. They have wonderful wine and a friendly atmosphere. The afternoon sun makes it a cozy place to spend happy hour. It’s easy to make friends at the bar. Good choices for gluten free options as well.

What a great feel this place has! It’s like a trip abroad in the middle of the East Village of Iowa. Spanish tapas and European flair throughout the menu. The spinach ricotta empanadas was delicious, as was the gambas al ajillo (slightly spicy, amazing garlic flavor), eggplant, scallop/shrimp cazuela was to die for, order extra bread to sop up the sauce. Had a new to me N/A option in their offering of Danish Sparkling Tea, the Bla flavor was not blah at all, definitely give it a try for something new and unique.

I’ve picked up tons of charcuterie boards here for different events–photoshoots, get-togethers, etc. I dined in for the first time last year. I did a wine flight (selection of 3) and shared a half board (2 meats & 2 cheeses). It was a great pre-dinner snack! Tonight, we got some tapas (hot and cold) and the Purveyor sandwich. I think next time I’ll try the Cuban sandwich. The guy sitting next to me last year was raving about it! The space is mainly set up for quick pick-up/take-out but there is bar seating, tables downstairs for several small and one large group. There are also tables upstairs before the catwalk where they can seat 6 people comfortably. There were people there solo, some studying, some doing work, and a group rendezvous. We were there for our weekly date night. The staff is always amazing here. Also, the lighting/ambience along with the music and food make the setting extremely intimate. We love it! Highly recommend!

We always take out-of-town friends here for the paella and house sangria, and it always gets rave reviews. The owner is so kind and knowledgeable, every single time, the food is always delicious, the vibes always immaculate.

10/10. What a Des Moines gem. The menu is wonderfully thoughtful, the wines both by the glass and for sale by the bottle are perfectly curated, the staff is kind, and the food is incredible! Perfect if you want to spend time grazing and sipping. Don’t sleep on the eggplant, empanadas, or the caviar if it’s on special

Great mix of fun food and a fantastic wine selection. We stopped in Sunday while biking Des Moines. It’s nice to have an option other than microbreweries. Love the vibe and the people working here are amazing.
