Visually the cake was beautifully done. It was exactly what we ordered. However, the cake was bland and flavorless. They advertised buttercream frosting, but given the lack of flavor there was no butter in this frosting. Very disappointing.

Beautiful space with amazing top notch customer service. The bakery was spotless with a cute array of beautiful baked goods. Definitely warm and inviting space. I stopped in on a whim passing by for the first time.
Sadly I was not a fan of my cupcake. The frosting was bland as was the cake itself- and the cake part was super dry. Overall not an enjoyable pastry for me. I enjoyed my baguette I bought – I do wish there was a note( or if I missed the note something on the packaging itself) that the whole baguette was topped with quite a lot of salt flakes. I just brushed it off and it was a very yummy bread.

I ordered crème brûlée and they offered to make a sugar crust on top which turned out amazing. I love their cake pops and the cinnamon buns are spectacular along with their cookies. Highly recommend with great customer service.

Good service ! And the store is very cute. Also had many things to buy besides cupcakes. Small little storefront with a bakery. The cupcakes were good just a lot very heavy! They come cold so you have a wait a few minutes before having it (at least that’s what the lady told us). Very expensive though so just a heads up on that too.

I love this bakery… but the last couple of times my cupcakes ,orange /cranberry loaf and a Oreo mousse were very dry! You make great pies but I was sad about the cupcakes, I bought them for a dinner party and not so good.

Incredibly cute bakery with fantastic hand pies (try the apple!) and so many other delicious delicacies. Love the fresh made bagels and scones, too. And my dog loves the homemade dog biscuits!

What a wonderful little spot. They’ve done a great job using the space and the selection of flavors and items made it extremely hard to choose. I tried an amoretto candy with the magic bar for later. So much flavor packed into a good sized candy well worth the price and the magic bar was delicious and rich enough for 2 portions. If your in Old Saybrook definitely stop in.

I ordered custom cookies for my daughter’s baptism and the cookies turned out EXACTLY like the photos I sent them. They were so beautiful and also tasted great too. I highly recommend and will be ordering from them in the future again.
Side note: They also offer to bag the cookies but in this case I chose to do it myself.

We hired Pursuit of Pastry as one of the dessert caterers for our wedding on Friday, May 17th, 2024. Having previously lived in Old Saybrook, we frequently visited Pursuit of Pastry, so we were especially delighted to hire them to create our wedding cakes. The pricing was quite reasonable, and we enjoyed the wide array of options available to us. Prior to ordering, we enjoyed a tasting on-site and reviewed photo examples of their work. We ordered the following: 6” chocolate tiered wedding cake filled with chocolate buttercream, 8” lemon tiered wedding cake with curd filling, and two ½ sheet Funfetti kitchen cakes. The exterior of the tiered wedding cake was covered with vanilla buttercream icing with an ombre royal blue to white and paint deco gold. We supplied two glass Beauty and the Beast themed toppers. We were quite pleased with our cakes, and everyone enjoyed a piece or two. Pursuit of Pastry was the perfect choice for our wedding, and we will certainly use them again for future events.

Not sure if she woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but the Owner definitely needs an attitude check. It was disappointing, especially since the other ladies in the shop were kind. We had several items we were planning to purchase, but ended up putting most of them back solely because of her rudeness. It’s unfortunate when one person’s behavior can completely change the experience in an otherwise nice store.
