Outstanding Service and food! We both had the country fried steak with eggs and home fries. It was all perfectly done. Plus the honey butter (homemade) really added the hometown vibe. The service was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and never overdone.

The Purple Onion is one of those hidden gems in a tiny town. The breakfast is great, the burgers are good, but what makes this place as amazing as it is are the people. Everyone is so friendly here! This trip I went for breakfast, it was packed with locals but there was still a table for me to sit. I went with the Country Fried steak with eggs over easy and hash browns, with a full order of biscuits and gravy. The Country Fried Steak was really good, full of flavor and not mushy. My eggs were a tad overcooked, but still runny enough that they weren’t ruined. The biscuits and gravy are okay, the biscuits are soft and fluffy, but the gravy is lacking flavor. The raisin toast is always a good choice and make sure you get the honey butter!

This was a great stop during our travels. Friendly service, great food made with care, and a neighborly atmosphere. It’s a restaurant that makes you want to move to a small town. Try the turkey club on marble rye, delicious!! They also have a wonderful selection of baked goods, Pies, and cookies! 🙂

The food here is full of flavor. The burgers are delicious – perfectly cooked and juicy patty with a lightly toasted bun. Yum! The breakfast is awesome too. The is service great, and the waitresses are always very friendly. I would highly recommend coming here. I can’t wait to try their pie next time!

The food is great! Absolutely the best coconut cream pie I’ve ever eaten in my life! The atmosphere is family dining and hometown. Prices are more than fair and the service is friendly! A great little place and we will definitely be back!

My wife and I spent the summer crossing American on bicycle. Our routine was to stop in small towns to have breakfast. The Purple Onion was exceptional in every aspect. I always order gravy and biscuits, my wife would go with scrambled eggs and bacon. This one of our favorites and I would definitely go out of our way to visit here again. We also enjoyed the town and its residents.

Excellent breakfast, very attentive service by Megan! Potatoes were perfectly crisp on the outside, creamy inside, bacon was done to perfection. Coffee was hot, delicious, and plentiful. Can’t wait to try the pie, but that will have to wait for an update, I was too stuffed.

Nice quaint little hole in the wall diner. The staff is very family friendly and the food is tasty. Homemade sausage gravy was great! Local honey also sold here!

Small town feel. Nice little salad bar and everything was fresh. Roast Beef and mashed potatoes were very good. Fresh and piping hot. Just a short bit off I 80 but worth it.
