Started out with the pretzel sticks and beer cheese for an app. Had the espresso martini then decided to mix it up with the Muffin, What about you. Yum, yum.
Decided to go light for dinner with the winter stew & caesar salad. Our friend had the shrimp & grits. (Nice little kick to it) Definitely will be back!
The service was exceptional some of the best I’ve had in a long time. Kayla, although new was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Ryan made great recommendations without being pushy.
Get the Purgatory Margarita, is splendid. Perfectly balanced, smooth, and dangerously easy to sip.
Highly recommend this spot whether you’re a cocktail enthusiast or just looking for a unique night out in Spokane. I’ll definitely be back!
I’m more of a tequila gal than whiskey but I’m always interested in trying something new.
Got a flight is whiskey tasting. And a couple additional shots of whiskey and tequila. Asked the bartender his favorite and he was able to give a great explanation of his choice.
He also hooked me up with a beautiful tasty cheesecake.
I will show this place to any friends and family that come to town.
I started with the hummus, which was creamy, rich, and served with warm, perfectly toasted pita. The portion was generous, and the texture had that just-right balance of smoothness with a touch of earthiness. It’s the kind of starter that works just as well with a cocktail as it does with a casual beer.
Then came the steak bites—tender, flavorful, and seared with a beautiful crust. They were juicy inside and came with a dipping sauce that really pulled everything together. It’s rare to get steak this good at a bar-focused spot, but Purgatory nailed it.
Speaking of drinks, their selection is massive. I paired my meal with one of their whiskey-forward cocktails, but their list is deep—over a thousand bottles of whiskey, plus a rotating lineup of craft beers and some very creative cocktails. The vibe is warm, rustic, and just edgy enough to be memorable without trying too hard.
Overall, The Purgatory delivered on every level. Great food, solid drinks, and an atmosphere that makes you want to linger. Highly recommend.
Service was great in an unhurried atmosphere. Elk burger was good though better can be had. I really enjoyed the garlic fries and my wife really liked the smoked salmon board. Not too big or noisy so it’s a nice place to go on your own or meet friends.
If you’re looking for whiskey, well the pics and other reviews give a lot of information. They have a club with perks and promos for that as well.
Recommend a visit.
The food was equally impressive. Every dish was excellent, and the fries in particular were unforgettable. Between the thoughtful service, curated whisky selections, and top-quality kitchen, Purgatory Whisky Bar is a must-visit.
