What is Pura Vida? Simply translated, it means “simple life” or “pure life”, but it is more than just a saying—it is a way of life. Pura Vida Açai Café brings that way of life to the Midwest with our Costa Rica inspired açaí bowls; pure açaí berry sorbet, never blended, never watered down, topped with a variety of all natural ingredients. I love the Açai bowls here! I usually have a fairly good experience, but there have been a couple times that I have felt like they have skimped on the amount of Açai or toppings. I paid $6 for a kids bowl and they filled it maybe halfway… it’s worth the money when you get a full bowl, but this did not seem worth it to me…

The food tastes good and the place is clean, however the people who work there consistently fill up the cups literally halfway. And you pay over $15. The photo attached is the adult size portion, and the photo does it more justice than it deserves. I’m not sure if it’s an employee thing or a managerial thing, but it’s simply unacceptable.

hands down the best açaí bowl i’ve ever had. i only stayed in missouri for about 3 months and now reside in georgia, but boy do i miss this place. no other açaí place in atlanta that i’ve tried so far compares to pura vida, and ive tried a lot of açaí bowls. everything always tastes fresh and the best açaí base i’ve ever had was from here. i would make the trip to missouri in lees summit area again just to be able to have their açaí bowl again.

I am from Costa Rica!! I live in Kansas City but I go to my country every year, I was just passing by, saw this place and of course I had to stop!! The lady that was working there was very nice!! She told me that the owners go to Costa Rica (Guanacaste) they got the idea of making this place!! I got a kids bowl of fruits for my 11 year old who is a very picky eater, She told me it was a 10 out of 10!! As a Costarrican this place made my day!! I will definitely go again ♥️

Wow! The Mango Cheesecake Bowl is deliciously refreshing!!! The best Açaí I have ever had and big bonus, this one is topped with toasted coconut, mini cheesecakes, fresh strawberries, mango coulis, whipped cream, and a mint leaf. Not a mango lover? They have a wonderful variety of flavors to choose from.
The portions are generous and I could have shared, but …. I didn’t ♀️. It is always a pleasure meeting the smiles of the people behind the business who are passionate and work hard every day to bring a bit of “Pura Vida” to us!!!
