We recently discovered a hidden gem while celebrating my brother’s 51st birthday. He had a craving for pupusas, so we found a highly-rated spot on Google. At first glance, the place seemed modest—no high-end decor, fancy tables, or anything resembling a typical restaurant entrance; it looked more like a corner store entrance.
However, looks can be deceiving. The food was outstanding, with generous portions and reasonable prices. The ladies working here have truly mastered the art of cooking these traditional dishes. We ordered a variety of items to try, and I believe I’ve found a new favorite spot. My first was in Delaware, and now I’m thrilled to have this one closer to home.
If you’re looking for a fancy setting, upscale atmosphere, and elegant clientele, this is not the place. But if you want exceptional, authentic Salvadoran cuisine that transports you to El Salvador, complete with passionate and skilled chefs, you’ll love it here.

I didn’t want to review this place because I don’t want it to get popular and busy, but I had to because it was so good. I got the 4 tacos and cheese stuffed papusas . The tacos have a good amount of meat and are served with two sauces, half a jalapeno, and pickled onions. The papusas WERE thee best I’ve ever had. One of my favorite things in Cleveland . I will be back. 20% gratuity is added automatically , so if you don’t like that, just order pickup .

I did a Google search. Clicked on their Website then made my order with delivery request. It was withdrawn from my account in the establishments name. I recieved an update stating it would be delivered. Upon the delivery time I got a text stating it was canceled. I called to see what happened they said they never recieve my order and denied that they charged my account. Then I walked there to show them the bank charges. They were defensive and said they got hacked. Then they said it was a door dash problem. I said I didn’t order from door dash but directly from your page. They were washing their hands of it. I requested the owner s info. They did not give it but called someone they offered to give me the amount charged in food. So I honestly don’t know what happened if they were hacked or what. It is not worth the stress nor the defensive response I recieved. Smh. Also each combo online says it comes with a drink. When I finally received an order they did not give me drinks. When I asked what happened she said only online order have drinks in the restaurant we charge extra. I said I ordered online. She hesitantly gave me the drinks. The food itself was extremely good thats why I gave the 3. Their customer service skills could improve alot.

I highly recommend this place. The people are friendly and the food is delicious. We had pupusas, sándwich de pollo, mariscada, pescado frito and everything was exquisite! The only thing is that it’s a bit warm in there, but it’s worth sitting there. The food and the service make up for the temperature. I hope that this place continues to succeed and it booms with business. No, I do not know the owner or the workers and I’m not salvadorian yet I absolutely loved this place. If you visit, I hope you enjoy as much as my family and I did.

Amazing authentic pupusas! Tastes just like being back in El Salvador. I would also recommend the flautas and Los tacos guanacos. Salsas were also delicious! Everything was fresh and high quality.

Great find! We were looking for authentic Mexican cooking, and we found it! It’s a small little place not far from the west side market. We tried the tacos both steak and chorizo, and a seafood bowl. Everything came out quickly and was perfectly cooked and tasted awesome! The waitresses were very nice and helpful. Food was very reasonably priced. We will be back and we will try something different, as a lot of the dishes that passed our table going to other customers looked awesome as well.

Had the most wonderful experience at Pupuseria y Antojitos Guanaquitas! We tried their El Salvadoran Horchata, Desayuno and chorizo and steak tacos. Everything was absolutely wonderful in the Desayuno, from the pupusas to the homemade queso fresco, homemade crema, and homemade curtido. The tacos were amazing as well, with so many salsas and toppings to try. Do NOT miss out on this restaurant. The staff here is also wonderful and helpful! Will be back!

We loved this stumble upon for Sunday lunch. There were 6 tables and the family who runs it are very sweet. The pupusas were the best I’ve ever had, everything was delicious. Thanks!
