Pupuseria Las Americas is a great Salvadorean restaurant. I’ve been there a couple times with Salvadorean friends who say it’s authentic and I love the food there. It’s here that I’ve discovered how much I love pupusas!

From my visits, I have ordered the following. They were all tasty and I recommend them. In my pictures:

– Pupusas: revuelta – chicharron con queso (my favorite); mixta – chicharron, queso y frijol; loroco – edible flowers and cheese (my other favorite

– Desayuno ranchero – sunny side up eggs in light tomato sauce and onions, a slice of hard cheese, refried beans, a couple of slices of fried plantains, and creamy cheese (almost like sour cream)

– Desayuno tipico – like ranchero, except with eggs scrambled with tomatoes and onions.

– Lomo encebollado – grilled pork tenderloin and onions. Comes with rice salad and beans.

– Bistec salteado – like above but with steak sauteed with pepper and onions.

– Filete al ajillo – like above but with tilapia in a garlic & lemon sauce.

– Orden de baleadas – a breakfast of tortillas filled with eggs, sausage, cream cheese and beans.

– Tamal de elote – a sweet tamale filled with corn. One of my favorites!

– Drinks: Jamaica – a sweet hibiscus drink; guayabana juice; Cola Champagne – a bottled soda like Inca Cola.

This is a “hole in the wall”, but I only say that because it’s cozy. Although it only has a handful of tables, it’s clean. The service is nice and food comes out in a reasonable amount of time.

Do drop by Pupuseria Las Americas for some tasty, authentic Salvadorean food. I plan to go there often, so you’ll probably see me there!

I JUST ordered a soup that I have order plenty of times from this place…never have had a problem bc there’s ALWAYS a good portion of actual meat and tripa. I got home and there’s just this. I’m not writing a review bc I didn’t like the soup. I just called to ask why isn’t there any meat in the soup like there usually is (I was just ASKING) a man answered the phone who wasn’t there at pick up. I was polite and made it known I don’t want a refund I was just asking a question. He said “maybe you didn’t like the soup or just get a different one bc we have never had an issue with our soups ” and “maybe you got home and ate the meat” he said this in a laughing manner thinking I wasn’t going to catch it, he’s thinking I just want a refund but I said “I did not do that, I have a camera in my kitchen to proof it too” he said he would safe my ticket and ask the person who prepared the soup bc it’s “unusual” for someone to complain. I just didn’t like how he assumed that and try to make it seem I was lying and probably just want money out of them.

Place was good. Wasnt exactly what I was expecting but I’m not a avid el Salvadorian critic. Everything tasted fresh and had some flavors going on. I’ll have to try a few other places to see where this ranks with them. Place was clean reasonably priced and people working there were extremely nice.

Small cozy place but the service and food was delicious. Very clean. We had two different kind of pupusas and they were great, crunchy and slightly well-down (my favorite style). We ordered traditional breakfast and it was really tasty.

Delicious pupusas and tamales! Small place with an open kitchen so you can pretty much watch them make your food fresh to order. Nice staff and great prices. If you’ve never had a pupusa go here and try one. You won’t be disappointed!

I had pupusa‘s, horchata, and a carne asada and it was very good. The pupusa was delicious and freshly made with a good amount of cheese. Nothing over the top.
Would be coming back soon.

This is a hole in the wall, which to me it’s always the best. The pupusas were the best, the ones I tried were Revueltas, Queso y Chicharrón ,and de loroco con Queso. Also, the tamal de pollo was very tasty, perfect seasoning.
Highly recommended if you want true Salvadorean food !❤️
