Do yourself a favor and enjoy a meal at this delightful restaurant! We ordered the house dumplings for an appetizer along with 3 sushi rolls (the Californication, Blink 182, and the Chef’s Special roll) as well as some Salmon Belly and Yellowtail nigiri … Every single bite we had was a magical masterpiece… We also enjoyed a MaiTai and the White Riot mixed drinks and they were delicious… Everything was spectacular! 10/10 we recommend!

I went here for a quick lunch break. I ordered the lunch special with the hamachi jalapeño and the salmon roll. At first glance, rolls had a large piece of fish which I can always appreciate but didn’t come with the usual adds of cucumber and carrot you’ll see at most places. The rolls were very good. The simplistic taste lended to something that was more authentic. I like that I could taste the light wasabi in the rolls. Only reason for the 4 out of 5 was the mushu porks rolls were good but seemed like they may have been sitting vs. freshly made. Other than that food came out super quick. I’ll definitely be back 🙂

Just moved from NYC and was nervous we wouldn’t find good sushi here. Then came Punk Wok! We went for happy hour and all of our food was delicious. We can’t wait to go back and try more!

Such a keeper!! The food was wonderful. Everything was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was fun with throwback 90’s music playing the night I went. Service was friendly and attentive. Did I mention how tasty the food was…

The food was alright. Nothing really stood out for the amount that was being charged. I did like the ambience of this place very intimate setting. Nice drinks. I would personally do HH instead.
The cucumber salad needs work, don’t just drizzle the sauce, toss the cucumbers in the sauce (too many nuts). It was like eating a bland cucumber. 4 wontons for $12 bucks (they were good but 2 more wouldn’t have hurt) the plain fried rice was the best thing.
The quail egg and raw sushi (not pictured) were good and fresh. The crab and avocado sushi lacked flavor and just did a horrible job with the roll itself. Seaweed was ok.
Overall 6.2/10

We had a taste for sushi, decided on Punk Wok, and it was a very pleasant surprise! We called to see how busy they were (very), and they saved us a seat at the sushi bar.
Service was great – they took food allergies (wheat) very seriously, which was very much appreciated. They have a gluten free eel sauce on some of the rolls and it was fantastic.
We got 4 rolls, some nigiri, and a couple of cocktails and everything was excellent.

Had a grand time visiting. Had this place on the to-do list for months, finally had a chance to visit. Reserved a table via the app and that process was flawless. We chose inside seating but there was tables outside available as well. The table was a bit close to the wall and I hit my chopsticks on it a few times before moving it out slightly. Lighting was also a little awkward for photos but otherwise pleasant. Came in during happy hour and got a bunch of food for a lot less than expected. We did ordering a little at a time and our server Dani was very patient with us. Overall, great experience.
Appetizers:
Mushu Egg Rolls – on point. Captured the mushu pork essence perfectly but way less messy to eat. Was not sure if the garnish was for anything, did not add to the plate.
Crab Rangoon – tasty take with pimento cheese. Sauce was excellent.
Kimchi – good and fresh
Maki: good flavor combinations only downside was nori was consistently chewy, like it’s sat out and absorbed too much moisture. Most were true to what you’d expect on flavor from description.
Californication –
Nate Gifford is punk af – no sauce needed. The bacon and scorched jalapeno were fantastic elements.
We got the hamachi and spicy tuna at the same time and that was a happy accident. They go really well together. Good texture and fish to rice ratio.
I tend to judge sushi places on their Unagi and Salmon so I had to try them here.
Unagi Nigiri – over roasted. The piece I had was burnt and tougher than expected
Sashimi: Salmon – good, not the cut style I like but was tasty. Salmon Belly – same on the cut but was more enjoyable because of the expectation of its buttery nature.
Dessert: Ginger Crème brûlée – very tasty, once you get past the overly burnt bits. The caramelization on the edges were a good addition to flavor and texture. The custard was creamy and had a wonderful flavor. I contemplated licking the bowl but was really too full to make that effort.
Definitively recommend. It was a great experience with good food and great service.

Someone posted below about there being 2 kinds of sushi places, premium and casual, and I was excited to go to a casual sushi place. Located in the Sylvan Supply building with plenty of parking, though I wouldn’t recommend the garage parking if you have a large SUV. Atmosphere is hip and clean. Came at a weird time so it was pretty empty, just one other table. Ordered the house dumplings and the tandoori wings. The wings were delicious and had great flavor, but maybe not the tandoori style you were expecting if you eat at a lot of indian restaurants. The dumplings were ok, I don’t think I liked the tamarind taste. We ordered some nigiri and californification and blink rolls. All were fairly tasty, though the hamachi wasn’t quite as buttery as I would have liked and texture was a little off, and a little too much sauce on the rolls. I thought prices were very reasonable, and despite a review below saying the portions were “stingy”, I did not find that to be the case at all. Portion sizes were plenty.
One thing I would be cautious with is if you are coming for the InKind app “deal”. It doesn’t tell you on the app there are any limitations but when you get to PunkWok they have some paper signs indicating you can’t use them during happy hours (never having been there, we didn’t know what time happy hour even was). You can also add funds to InKind as well, and I wasn’t planning on using a “deal”, and paid partially with cash I had already added to InKind. I was told not so nicely that even though it had gone through, and even though it wasn’t a “deal”, I can’t use InKind at all. So, you have been warned about the app.

The food is really good. This menu has so much food from sushi, poke, etc. You’ll definitely find something you like. It’s not the biggest resturant so get there early or reserve a seat.

Hey so!!! Do yourself an ABSOLUTE favor and NEVER come here. They refused my group of 11+ with a reservation 21+ NO ALCOHOL because our ids “looked” fake. Not because they scanned them and they were fake, but because they looked fake. THEN on top of that not being enough they charged a $275 cancellation fee for a dinner we never even cancelled. Our reservation was for 8:30pm and they purposefully did not serve us because they closed with in the hour and a half and didn’t feel like it. Enjoy your food at some other place this isn’t the one.
