Punjabi Spice is a true standout for anyone craving authentic North Indian flavors with rich, bold spices and comforting classics done exceptionally well. From the moment you walk in, the warm, welcoming service and vibrant atmosphere set the tone for a memorable meal.
The food here hits with real depth and balance. The tandoori dishes are perfectly charred and juicy, and the butter chicken manages to be both creamy and complex — the kind of dish you want to savor with every bite. The dal makhani is slow-cooked to velvety perfection, and the chicken tikka masala boasts a rich, aromatic sauce that pairs beautifully with freshly baked naan. Portions are generous without being heavy, and every dish feels thoughtfully seasoned.
Service was attentive and friendly, guiding us through favorites and ensuring our experience felt personal and relaxed. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual dinner or celebrating a night out, Punjabi Spice delivers classic Punjabi flavors with consistency and care.
Highly recommend — this is a go-to spot for anyone who loves bold, comforting Indian cuisine in NYC.

If you’re looking for authentic, soul-warming Punjabi food, this is the place. It feels like stepping into a kitchen in North India. The Dal Makhani and Paneer are incredibly rich and flavorful, and the fresh rotis are some of the best I’ve had in the city. It’s rare to find a vegetarian spot that hits this level of spice and depth. Affordable, humble, and absolutely delicious. A must-visit

So far I have had Malai Kofta and Palak paneer. They are amazing cooks from North India and the food is not too hot. It’s 100 percent vegetarian in the Indian cooking, but for Americans they have other options. I will definitely be back.

Chanced upon this place last night while looking for some other joint. It was 2 AM and we were very hungry after a dance party. The bright and clean look encouraged us to step in and thank God we did. Our friends are vegetarian and wanted paranthas and were blown away by the what was presented to us. It took a while to come but at the very the first bite we knew it was worth the wait.
The paranthas were the size of a medium pizza and were absolutely sumptuous! The raita served with it was an equal partner in the taste department and the block of butter on top topped off the presentation. Despite the size, we devoured the full paratha in no time, accompanied by a sweet lassi.
The young staff was extremely courteous and took care of all the guests. The fact that the place was full even at that early hour speaks volumes of the quality and affordability. We’re looking forward to coming back here soon!

Desi Stop and Deli is a fantastic spot for affordable and delicious Indian and Punjabi food. The homemade taste really stands out, especially with their soft, fresh rotis that feel like they’re straight from a home kitchen. Their platters, priced around $13, are the best deal, including 2 vegetarian curries, 2 rotis, and rice—a perfect, satisfying meal. Occasionally, they also offer free sweet dishes like Rasmalai or Kheer, depending on the size of your order, which is a delightful touch.
Every dish is flavorful, though the salt can be a little less sometimes, but it’s easy to adjust. The staff is warm, welcoming, and respectful, making the experience even better. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic, homemade Indian food!

I was surprised how good this place is. Randomly stopped by to have a small snack and ended up having a bunch of things.
Got a bread pakora which they had made freshly, the taste was very close to home.
Also got a mixed paratha, it was very simple, not too buttery, and tasted home made.
The prices are very cheap too.
Would surely stop next time again.

We got 2 Thali specials and the menu is set for those. The mixed veggies was super dry and not edible. The rice was tangy and had a very sour taste and they forgot to give us raita. Never had roti that costed me $80 & taste so bad. Won’t return and highly recommend those reading to go elsewhere.

Discovered this place for my kid’s birthday catering recently. And have picked up food a couple of times since. Great tasting, authentic, comfort north indian/punjabi, vegetarian food, including party food like vegetarian sandwiches and burgers. Nice people operating the place too.

Before with the old management and how the store looked I didn’t have any hopes that it would last longer than 3 months. New management came in and they turned it AROUND. The food is so good, and the owner is pure and down to Earth. Will be recommending this to many people. Wish them the best
