Social Profile:

Located in the basement of Thalia Hall, Punch House’s own history is steeped in the maritime origins of its namesake drink. When British sailors made the voyage to India and back during the 17th century, they diluted their rum rations with sugar and spices, from which sprang the five tenets of quality, balanced punch: “strong, weak, bitter, sour & sweet.” Each of these elements is now skillfully interpreted in the venue’s novel cocktail menu. Tied together by a menu by Chef Ryan Pfeiffer consisting of Oysters, McPunch Sandwiches, Smash Burgers, Trout Caesar Salads, handmade Ice Cream Sandos, & more.

Hidden basement bar with a vintage air serving up creative & classic punches plus sandwiches.

Peek a boo!! A little hidden gem with great atmosphere. Filled with people of all ages, genders, and races mingling, playing board games, dancing, or staring into the huge aquarium. The special toast they give and include the fish was great!! Be careful with those specially drinks, they’ll get you!!

Drinks were great, although pricey, service was pretty slow for them not being busy. DJ was great and the vibe was on point. I’d go back for the vibe for sure.

Came in for some drinks and food before a concert at Thalia Hall. Unfortunately, there were no servers. However, the bartenders were accommodating and everything came out quick. Highly recommend the shrimp taco!

It’s a good place for a drink. A little pricey but it’s not my first time so I know what I am getting into. I had a cutlass supreme and my friend had a Pilsen pisco. I liked her drink way more than mine. Service was good. We came on a Friday night and it was pretty packed so we had to wait to find a seat since the place is relatively small. Only pic I have was when we had both finished our drinks, but trust they were cute.

Discovered this bar through an acquaintance and immediately fell in love. The food and mocktails are amazing and the intimate, low key vibe is immaculate! Will definitely be back in the near future to introduce friends and acquaintances.

The most superior punch bar I’ve ever been to, and likely ever will. I had some of the most creative punches I’ve ever seen here. The atmosphere is super cool, with an aquarium behind the bar, lots of cushy seating, and a vinyl DJ spinning when I was there. Dark and subtle, definitely will be back.

One of my favorite bars in Pilsen, love coming here. Its a small but intimate space, with loud music. Drinks are great and the bartenders are fast. I recommend the Gin Punch and the Pilsen Pisco. Never been disappointed by a drink here

Visited 3/10/2023. The drinks, food (except the wings) & ambience was very good. Didn’t realize it was a Speakeasy so that was a nice surprise.

Side Note: I’m not familiar with the Pilsen area so I wasn’t prepared for the lack of available parking…drove around for about 15min before finding one about a 10min walk away. I liked the place enough to want to visit again but unfortunately the parking will be a deterrent for me unless I I find parking a ways away somewhere, then Uber/Lyft to there.

Very chill place , restaurant on the ground level and bar on the underground level. It has 4-5 booths for groups of up to 6-7 people each one with nice black leather. The bar extends to the entire length and is decorated in the background by a big beautiful fish tank. At midnight when they feed the fish music stops and they pass out shots. The cocktail menu has 8 house cocktails and the summer is coming is very tasty and strong cocktail. Music is loud enough to dance to.

Place was packed when me and a few friends arrived. Thought we wouldn’t be able to be seated until our awesome host pressed open a SECRET ROOM that had additional tables! It was pretty dope! The ambiance in the room was super chill and welcoming. Drinks were great, the lamb ribs; tender, flavorful and satisfying. Dessert was delicious as well. Will definitely revisit.
