Not as great as last year sadly. Still friendly staff but we had tostados, carne asada and enchilada platter. The chips and bean dip also weren’t as fresh or warm.

Woah just woah!
Right before turning into Roan Mountain we found this gem.
Great food and super friendly service.
Steak nacho with diced tomatoes onions sour cream and right spice . Not too spicy but definitely yum.
El combo was big and filling. Definitely worth a try.
Avocado salad was fresh
Horchata to sweet
But their free house made chips and bean dip

Great food and super friendly service.

We were disappointed that Puerto Nuevo was gone but this place seems to be the same food under a different name.
No clue as to why they changed the name but everything else seems the same – same food, same building, just a different sign up now.
The servers were nice and the ambiance is nice and I am glad we got to sit outside since it was pretty warm out.

So so good. Everything was so flavorful and the menu has a great variety. Loved everything on the salsa bar and the queso was delicious. Our server was wonderful and so sweet.

Food was just okay. Service was not good, probably one of the lowest quality service of any restaurant I’ve been to. No heat so was around 50 degrees inside. Not accepting credit cards.

We went to hike the Grassy Ridge Bald and seen this restaurant on the way in. We didn’t see many other options so we decided to eat here after our hike and I’m so glad we did. We were definitely hungry and the food was so good. We didn’t try the seafood which I regret but everything was seasoned well, the salsa bar had variety, the service was great.
Truly the service was very attentive and very accommodating. No wait at around 5pm on a Saturday. Prices pretty well and definitely worth a visit if you’re visiting for a hike.

I easily had the best Taco salad of my life here and my husband also had the best fajitas he’s ever had. The food is delicious and authentic and our server was so friendly and polite. The owner (I assume he was) checked on us while we were dining which was so nice. We also loved the atmosphere and the way it was decorated. Our food came out very fast. You can tell they care and their prices are so fair. So glad we stopped here! If we’re ever in Roan Mountain again, we will be back!
