It was my first time here. I found them while scrolling on Instagram.
Food Ordered:
Pernil
Arroz con gandules
Maduros
Empanadillas con carne
This place is a take out spot run out of a trailer. It’s basically a food truck. Parking is very limited (about 5 spots total plus street parking). I arrived there on a Saturday around 2pm and there was a line of people waiting to order. I had to wait around 40 minutes to place my order. Someone did come out and offer everyone a complimentary cheese dish which was very good. After placing my order, I received my order in about 5-7 minutes.
When I was able to eat my food, I started with the empanadillas con carne. They were very good. The dough was fried to perfection and was filled with a generous amount of ground beef. The ground beef was seasoned very well and I love that it was not too salty. I ordered two but I wish I would have gotten on of the pizza empanadillas because that sounds interesting. 5/5
The main dish was pernil on a bed of arroz con gandules with a side of maduros. The pernil was seasoned very well and cooked very well. It pulled about with just a slight pull of my fork. The only negative was it was a tad dry. Not enough to take away from the enjoyment of the meal, but it did keep it from being perfect for me.
The arroz con gandules was very splendid. The flavors had a dance party in my mouth. I can’t tell you all the specific flavors, but the combination was amazing.
The maduros were delicious and everything I expect when eating a sweet plantain.
Overall I gave the meal a 4/5. The only thing keeping me from a perfect 5 was the slight dryness of the pernil. However, I am excited to return and try other items on the menu.

We drove 2 hours from Richmond, Virginia, and I must say—we ABSOLUTELY loved this place! The food was a true taste of Puerto Rico, full of authentic flavor. The staff was incredibly pleasant and welcoming; they made us feel right at home.
¡Que viva Puerto Rico!
QDMLB (May God bless you all)!

Very authentic flavors, reminds me of home every time we eat there. The seasoning on the pernil is on point and the weekly specials are welcome additions to the regular menu, whether it’s mofongo or ensalada de carrucho. They got you covered with frituras and dulces (alcapurrias and quesitos ftw). Plus they have natural fruit juices, like acerola and parcha! The only ding is the wait time when ordering, but the food is always worth it. Just need to keep that in mind on days when it’s 90°+

Unfortunately. I didnt have an opportunity to try the food. This review is purely based on customer service, and the fact that today, Feb 7, myself and 3 other customers waited outside in the cold for 20mins to attempt to make an order. They did not allow orders by phone, and after waiting, we were told they only had “carne frita & corn beef”. Food ran out? – not a problem, it happens. Im glad they are able to consistantly deliver a good meal and sell out. Where i digress is the fact that you witnessed us standing outsode for that period. And never did they once offer a solution, or come back in 10 mins and we’ll take your order, or say hey we eill potentially run out of the main food options… we later found out they are swamped with orders for tomorrow’s superbowl…. again, fantastic, but take care and be considerate of your customers that are stabding outside in windchills of 3 degrees…. So i drove 45mins here, to stand in the cold for 20mins, amd walk away empty handed.

My partner and I went and ordered take out, this was our first time trying out the place and for sure won’t be the last!
We are both from PR and the food was delicious.. made us feel like we were back home – recommend 5/5! The staff was also very quick and friendly. We ordered about 70% of the menu and each item was authentically Puerto Rican.

Best Puerto Rican food I have had locally. The guava and cheese pastry, pernil, arroz con gandules and tostones were good. Good portions. The empanadas looked and smelled great but never got to taste them because I forgot to put them in the fridge and had to throw them out. Good food. I will definitely return to try more of their menu.

This is definitely some authentic Spanish food, smelling and tasting like grandma was in the house cooking for hours. I am from NYC and it is so hard to find authentic food that I used to get at home. This was so good and I am so glad I came across them on social media. Now, I don’t have to wait until I travel to NYC. Now I can get it close to home. Thank you and God bless your business.
