The place is nicely decorated. The service was on point. The food did not make me happy. The chicken with mole was just okay, the sauce didn’t have much flavor, the arepa was not fully cooked and the listed plantain was not there. The gnocchi appetizer was tiny and tasty, though we were forewarned. The rest of the main dishes were okay, although the hanger steak needed some salt and pepper and the enchiladas were fine. It was all edible, just not what I was expecting for the price and the website. The best of the whole meal was the tres leches cake, moist though it would have had some sauce. Just flat.

Churros were to die for! Perfectly made! Best queso! Our server, Seth, was attentive and so helpful! Carne Asada was tender! Reservations highly recommended. We got in 10 minutes early and they seated us right away. Parking is a bit tricky and limited but we got lucky and found one right in front of the restaurant. Restrooms were extremely clean. The rest of the entire staff were very friendly and polite!

Love the atmosphere. A great spot for a girls night. The queso was my favorite thing on the menu. I’d just order that and get some drinks. The other food was good, but felt overpriced if you’re looking at flavor/$. The wait staff was perfect, and very attentive.

The service and atmosphere of this establishment were beautiful. We recently visited Puerta and sat in the lounge area, our hostess was so kind and helpful. Our waitress as well, very kind, attentive, and knowledgeable on the menu & drinks. The food was SO disappointing. As stated in multiple reviews the empanadas lacked meat and just had a lot of cheese. My food came out fairly quickly. I got the Enchiladas and added chicken. I asked they not include beans which they stated would be on the side. Upon the arrival of my food there was beans and my meal was SO COLD. It almost seemed like the plate was premade with rice and beans and they just threw my hot entree up there with cold rice. I was so excited to try this restaurant it was very popular on TikTok for so long, again the atmosphere was beautiful, we got to sit right by the DJ booth drinks were good, but the price you pay for the food is not worth at all. I wouldn’t go back.

Great spot for whatever you need! Have just visited for the third time and each visit has left me more excited for the next!
The brunch is super cool and casual and the large windows allow for a bright and sunny spot to enjoy the morning/midday. The dinner options are delicious and the vibe in the evening is akin to that of a lively Latin lounge.
I recommend sitting at the bar and letting their expert bartenders create a cocktail for you based on your taste. The bar is full service so you can enjoy a great meal their as well.

Honestly, I’m disappointed. I’ve heard SUCH great reviews for this place that my boyfriend and I wanted to check it out.
Nothing was per-say bad just was okay: margaritas were meh, guac was bland, the empanadas had more cheese than meat in them, and the carne asada was more burnt than charred.
If it were just a casual restaurant we likely wouldn’t have cared as much, but for the price the quality just didn’t match up.
Lastly, the service by the middle to end was lacking. There weren’t many check ins or opportunities to get more drinks, not to mention it took awhile get our check once we were finished.
Positive notes. The empanada shells were crunchy and cooked to perfection and the scallops were perfect taste and presentation wise.
All in all, maybe we just ordered the wrong things but not likely going back to give it another go.

Had a great lunch today. First time trying Puerta. Loved the Lamb birria tacos! Solid margaritas, thank you bar staff! Will definitely be back.

The service was great. The entire staff was very polite and created a welcoming environment. I’ve given it two stars because of how awful the food was. The tacos were served on cold and soggy corn tortillas. The portion sizes were a slap in the face when you take the price into account. Roughly $7.50 each for a tiny soggy taco! This place needs to step up their food game because the staff, location, and decor is awesome.

My cousins and I decide to celebrate cinco de mayo here. We called before arriving and they said there was no wait, after arriving we had to wait over an hour. My cousin had the food here before and was excited for specific things. The waitress was nice and shared that they recently changed their menu and removed some things. We got the Tuna Guacamole and the Queso Fundido with mushrooms. Both were delicious and we enjoyed as a table. We also got Chicken Empanadas, which were ok. They were really doughy and personally I didn’t enjoy them. We really wanted the Red Snapper but they ran out. I got the Half Chicken Mole which was well seasoned and filling. One cousin got the Arroz a la Tumbada and the other got the Carne Asada. They thought it was good but they liked each other’s meal more.

I celebrated my birthday at Puerta in Charlotte, and it was everything I had hoped for and more! I’ve been wanting to go for a while, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The atmosphere was vibrant and perfect for a special night out, and the service made me feel so welcomed and celebrated.
The highlight of the evening was definitely the taco board with lamb and steak—it did not disappoint! The flavors were rich, bold, and absolutely delicious, making it the perfect centerpiece for a memorable meal.
Puerta made my birthday dinner truly special, and I can’t wait to come back to try more. If you’re looking for incredible food, great vibes, and top-notch service in Charlotte, Puerta is a must!
