This was our first time visiting Rolla, and we walked into Public House Brewing Co. purely based on the great Google reviews — and we’re so glad we did! Our experience was so fantastic that we’ll be planning future Highway 44 trips around a stop here.

We were immediately welcomed by Tony, who made us feel right at home with his genuine friendliness and hospitality. Even though the restaurant was undergoing a renovation and operating with a limited menu, being seated next to the brewery vats actually made the visit even more unique and fun. We noticed several groups playing board games and quickly spotted the game shelf — such a great touch for spending time with friends over a beer!

We later learned Tony is the GM, which explains his passion, deep knowledge, and pride in how Public House has become a positive force in the local community. He recommended several beers to sample — all delicious — but the Giddy Goat, a smooth coffee stout, was my personal favorite. We loved it so much we left with a six-pack!

We ordered the smash burgers, and they were some of the best we’ve ever had. While waiting for our food, Tony took a moment to give us a quick behind-the-scenes tour of the brewing equipment — such an unexpected and cool experience. The rest of the staff were just as friendly and attentive, and we even got to try one of their house-made cheesecakes… absolutely decadent!

Public House Brewing Co. truly lives up to its name — fantastic beer, great food, and warm, welcoming hospitality. We can’t wait to return to see the completed renovation and the familiar faces that made this visit so memorable!

We recently reserved the tasting room for a small gathering of 20ish people. We met with Chef Ben and Tony prior to discuss menu options, our serving preferences and the vibe we wanted for the evening. They nailed it! Our guests were amazed by the great food. Our server was wonderful. Presentation for the meal was incredibly well done. They really listened and cared about making the evening special. I highly recommend Rolla Public House for your next party/family gathering.

PHBC is a great place to enjoy a cold brew, great food and entertainment, such as trivia and live music. They’re making some exciting changes to their awesome location. The folks who own the pub are kind and neighborly. You can’t find a better place in Rolla or the surrounding areas!

I’ve been a regular at Public House for quite a while now and just attended their New Years’s Eve celebrations this year. I was really excited to see the pub’s remodel as someone who has loved the Rolla location for over a decade. The newly remodeled interior is beautiful while keeping the same funky art and colorful details that it’s always been known for. The food specials that night and throughout have been amazing (go on Fridays for the smashburgers!). Their regular and seasonal beers are tasty (had the chocolate porter). The staff are friendly, charming, and effectively managed a busy night of service on my last visit. This is my go-to spot in Rolla; I always take visitors here to check it out.

My husband and I are foodies to say the least. We were very spoiled living in the DFW area for several years being exposed to many different cultures and lots of cuisines. We moved to Rolla less than 24 hrs ago. We decided to hit a bar and grill near us but quickly walked out due to the uncleanliness of the establishment. If you have that many tables dirty then what does your kitchen look like?

Last minute we decided to hit the Public House. I think it may have been one of our best experiences. The establishment is clean, they brew in house which always makes for a wonderful decor. Super clean establishment from what we saw. We are huge lovers of anything charcuterie. They really have amazing cheeses and meats that hit the spot. The additional side of pickled onions, peppers and tomatoes hit hard. Loved it!! It’s one of the best boards we have had to date in its simplicity. For dinner we split a Pig, Fig and Apple plate. I am not a sandwich person and even I enjoyed it thoroughly. The balsamic for the salad accompanied with the dried fig was a perfect combination. Our server was polite, attentive, knowledgeable and he did a great job. We will definitely be coming back to this establishment!!

Enjoyed a fantastic dining experience at this place! The atmosphere is clean and open, creating a pleasant ambiance. The food was absolutely delicious. One thing to note is that if you choose to sit on the patio, you might need to get your own drinks at the bar. However, the standout feature for us was that this restaurant is incredibly dog-friendly, both inside and on the patio. Highly recommended for a great meal in a welcoming setting!

Beer and food are still great, but the atmosphere during the ongoing renovation is not good. It’s definitely shifted from feeling like a brewery to a restaurant-and-bar. Staff seem stressed and have generally been much less friendly. It feels like they don’t want folks lingering after a meal to enjoy a couple beers and would rather have an open table for the next customer. A very unwelcoming vibe to anyone under 40
